Morbius

Sony marketed Morbius as a "Sony-verse" movie that was connected to the Spider-Man MCU movies, which was nearly false advertising. The post credits scenes had Vulture plucked from the alternate universe where MCU shit takes place and name drop Spider-Man in an awkward "team up" moment with Morbs. Before that, it's just a typical 2000's era comic book movie. Part of why this movie is chosen to be memed, and not other Marvel movies, is that audiences knew it was going to be underwhelming.
Even the post-credit scene and the references to other versions of Spider-Man made no sense.

How did Toomes end up in the world of Morbius? I thought what happened in No Way Home sucked in a bunch of heroes and villains into Holland's universe.

Amy Pascal has clearly not learned from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and so desperately wants that Sinister Six crossover.

You're right, it doesn't make sense. The spell that Peter asked Doctor Strange to perform was supposed to make everyone forget that he was Spider-Man, which Peter corrupted when he kept adding conditions to it, and somehow brought people from other dimensions to his who knew that Peter Parker was Spider-Man. When Peter has Strange do the original spell with no conditions, it returns everyone back to their dimensions. There's no explanation for why Toomes ends up in Morbius' world. It's possible that Toomes was originally from the Morbius universe and was returned there in the spell, meaning he had travelled dimensions prior to the events of Homecoming. There's no explanation for Toomes possessing a Vulture suit in Morbius' dimension, either. Either there's a Vulture in this world already who has the suit and this Toomes stole it, or he immediately began crafting one with no resources in a new dimension. It's so stupid.

I'd blame it more on Avi Arad as well since he is the one often credited for being involved in Spider-Man movies and justifies shoving characters into stuff they don't belong as doing it for the fans like he did with Venom in Spider-Man 3 and tried to do with The Lizard in the production of Spider-Man 4 before that was scrapped.

Morbius only made $85,000 on the first day of its rerelease, and a total of $280,000 in the whole weekend. lmao
Okay I take back everything I said, this meme is fucking glorious.

That’s because that post credits scene got made while having no idea what the script for NWH was. It got removed once it hit streaming, except they forgot to do so for the Apple version.

Just randomly popping in here to say the linked Forbes article mentions it at the very end and the author is clearly just seething.

I'm starting to feel like Jared Leto just shouldn't be famous anymore. He hasn't been in any good movies ever, and his acting has been mediocre at best. Even in that one AIDS movie he was in where he wasn't total garbage.

I remember hearing that he got so deep into 'method acting' when he was playing the shittiest version of the Joker ever, that he gave his co-stars dead animals and used condoms as presents. What a fucking retard.

I still don't understand why Jared Leto is famous. His shitty music? His shitty acting? Providing young trim to music/film execs through his weirdo sex cult?

Wait they legit removed that post-credits scene from all stream releases?

Well if Soyny had listened to the random racists bitching in this thread they would know that this movie looks like shit and nobody wants to see it. Now do a Vampirella movie and do it right.

Were Sony responsible for the No Way Home credits scene as well? Because that shit made absolutely no fucking sense either since Venom never even met Spider-Man.

I think in Venom 2, they said that all symbiotes have a sort of hive mind thing across dimensions, so Venom knew about Spiderman because of the Sam Rami films.

Not sure why, but it’s rare for me to hear superhero movies failing upwardly and this badly that this will go down as one of the worst best things to happen to Marvel in a while. It’s pretty humorous to me.
