Orbiter morons on youtube who talk about chris

See, why do people even make these? Do they think their commentary is new or insightful? Are they not aware of the droves of idiots doing the exact same thing? Do they think people care?

My theory is they're trying to leech off of Chris' internet fame in a desperate ploy for views, but it's pathetic and sad. Consider that Chris at least makes original content ("makes" being a relative term) whereas all these people do is make videos of them whining about an autist in a bid to become the next A-Log.

To me it just seems like attention whoring, or trying to make themselves look cool at his expense. Most of the time they come across as just as annoying as Chris. It kind of reminds me of the nerd hierarchy back when I was in school. Like how this upper echelon nerds would pick on the lower echelon nerds to try to impress the more popular crowd.

I think you've hit the nail right on the head.

It's odd. Stating the obvious, but it's the few people who make neutral, balanced videos on Chris and his work who tend to come off the best - Sachumo, Fredrik Knudsen. Then you get the edging into the types who want to show how rubbish Chris is and how brilliant they are, usually by trying - and generally failing - to be comedians - the folks behind Sonichu 101 or that abysmal Let Me Tell You About... one.

But at least they're trying a little. Then you reach the barrel-scrapers doing reaction videos. And you know that you don't even need to watch those.

The problem is that Chris's past has been comprehensively documented, so all that any new video can do is re-hash stuff that's already been covered, and covered better.

The guy who did the explaining in Sonichu 101 wasn't that bad IMO, he wasn't A-Logging or anything, but the audience that was with him was total fucking cringe though.

Sachumo's video was great in tone and a very good watch overall, though it being a school project meant that it was too SFW. You really can't explain Chris's life thoroughly well to anyone without going full NSFW.

Those videos aren't really meant for us, they're meant for the people who just heard of Chris in passing. They're primers on Christory, if you will..

This. The only thing that confuses me more than the videos themselves is the fact that they HAVE VIEWS. So people are watching them. I'm not trying to sound overly judgmental or haughty, I just don't understand the appeal at all.

same reason people post in different text colours?

I personally just like the color green, no need to be rude :(

Internet Historian is also an example of how to curate lolc-..events? correctly. He hasn't touched cwc yet but his series on Shia Labeouf's descent into madness is certainly worth a watch. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a kiwi himself.
The Habbo Hotel vid was a trip down memory lane.

I always thought that the Habbo raids was probably the reason why the original man in the pickle suit was black. But @Marvin said it was because of Chris' perceived (or real) racism and I have no reason to doubt him.

Black people have always been in the chantard zeitgeist. So that certainly would've been a part of it.

But yeah, the specific motivation at the time (as opposed to a general source of inspiration, like 4chan shit) was that they thought Chris was racist and hated pickles, so the combined the two.
