1, Jesus fuck Janet Cage or what's her troon face is actually fucking annoying. She is constantly flapping her lips with constant quips unlike literally any other Kameo, who is practically mute.

It's actually rather intrusive because it overlaps with your player character's voice lines when they win a round. Also, the bitch is fucking ugly. The whole thing about Johnny is that he's a super popular A-lister and probably supposed to be supposed to handsome or something, right?

Why is Janet so ugly then? If you're going to do a female Cage, at least make her look like your typical A-list starlet.

NRS has double standards for men and women, and they need that sweet cash from people paying microtransactions in MK1. No way they would fix the most hideous sheboon like Tanya, and I would expect they uglify Jade in KP2 later on.
Men hot good, women sexy bad according to NRS. And they even have some of the worst consistency a gamedev company has.

DEI ruins every single game they touched here and there, even existed pre-SBI establishment. Even if there was a “chance” to redeem the franchise from its irreparable state by DEI and ESG score, they all fucked up, and money is the only rights they have to keep grinding. 2, I believe there was a link posted here in this thread from Nitara's other VA, the one who does grunts and stuff. It is extremely and uncomfortably jarring when you hear the difference between the two in combat. Nitara's voice makes her sound schizo because you can hear it's two different women with two different levels of talent performing.

I believe her name is Cristina Vee, and she also voices multiple anime titles and video games as well. Higher payment goes to Megan Fox because she is hot and famous, instead of properly assigning Cristina Vee to fully voice Nitara. It would have been redeemed her more instead of making her the ass of the joke of MK normies.

NRS is addicted to luring certain celebrities who never have any voicing experience at all. I guess hot women makes more bucks than actually prioritize talented voice actors. Looking at you Ronda Rousey, and you are not even attractive and even likable at all.

It's also the system being garbage (arguments and dumb shit being the customizable items like Jaqui's bomb thingies that you can'tt even see in gameplay or Sub-Zero's....daggers? Throwing stars?), the costumes are bland and shit

Skarlet has been mentioned to death so MK11 Kitana gets the honor as an example. And it's not even that she's covered up. It's how boring and bland her look is. She looks like an MCU character. She has nothing about her that screams Edenian or even royalty.

Say what you will about the weird faces she makes in MK1, at least her outfit is an improvement. Her titan costume however looks kinda dumb.

Also unrelated but MK1 really loves sucking Mileena off to the point where Kitana's ending reads like a course correction from MK4 with some girlboss bullshit sprinkled all over it.

Netherrealm has this weird variant of the eastern "overdesign" issue. Whereas in anime and videogames it's not rare to see all these revealing asymmetric outfits full of chains, belts, flowers, feathers and etc, MK has this weird thing where they throw just too many pieces of clothing on top of another, each with different, clashing patterns. To me it feels accidental whenever they land on something that does look decent.

On another note, ive noticed as well that they don't want to "uglify" characters per se, what they want is for *you* to be attracted to their portrayal of "hot".
