Real late to the game on this, so my apologies in advance. I bought MK 11 Ultimate (on sale $8.99). I've been tuned out to MK since they went polygonal, but I really, really liked MKs 1 thru 3.

I bought it mainly as I wanted to give Rambo a spin, and he's pretty badass.

I played thru the first part of the story mode..gotta say I was pretty impressed with the cinematic quality of the whole thing and how smooth the transitions from story to fights were. I skipped the story parts of the Jax/Jacqui section as I'm aware of the Jax ending nonsense and desired to avoid potentially alot more of the same.
There was quite a bit of "girl power" bullshit with Cassie and Jacqui, but nothing too terrible. As a standalone story, overall I was impressed. these games have come a long way... but as a MK story, jesus this shit sure is convoluted. So now the MK universe is now like Marvel and DC with all this multiverse bullshit?... christ.

One thing, I haven't seen pointed out anywhere in the commentary about Jax ending is on the first screen, Raiden is standing behind Jax looking like he's furiously waving his hands at Jaz saying "NO you retard, DON'T!" LOL, I thought that was pretty funny.

The gameplay seems as clunky as ever (being a Street Fighter/Fatal Fury player mostly), but the OTT levels of gore, and the mostly inventive Fatalties are pretty cool. Johnny Cage steals the show in this regard, lol.

I'm glad I bought it (on sale) and the woke bullshit isn't so overwhelming that it turns me off. Is MK 1 worse as far as the woke/sjw nonsense is concerned?

I am a fag for the MK9 looks. Pure nostalgia. But I will agree that Raiden with his hair out though is unique and cool and should be appreciated more even if I am a sucker for his hat. Armageddon Rain is also really lovely. Idk, it really just really vibed with me. I blame that for those Prick of Persia vibes. His design in MKX was also really lovely.

Now, while I prefer his MK9 look, I do have a soft spot for Stryker's Armageddon design.

A nice window to a better time to look back at considering the current bullshit currently waiting for us.

Character Design wise I love MK9. Boobs and butts aside the guys in 9 look amazing. Cyraxx nailed the " cool, styling black guy " before game companies gave up and gave every black guy the soundcloud haircut. Scorpion's best design, peak Ermac, Kung Lao didn't look like a nerd, Smoke's beautiful hair. World design wise even though I haven't played it, DA I think is the best in terms of gloomy/dark/edgy setting that this series needs to go back to but I know it won't.

Ermac's MK9 alternate gear is my absolute favorite design. The primary looks in the later games feel like poor imitations of it. Reptile's look in Shaolin Monks was nice combination of his early ninja and later Saurian appearances. I also like Kitana's UMK3, SM, and MK9 designs along with Sonya's MK, UMK3, and both of her MK9 designs.

MKX Quan Chi's hits this nice sweet spot between his original teal robes and his 3d era shirtless look for me, but more importantly he doesn't look like squidward.

They gave the best design to one of the best MKX designs. I love MKX Tremor & I wish this how he is always adapted since MKX onwards.

Now for that unfairness, as many know that MK11 butchered a lot of lore, one of which being Skarlet's lore about her blood absorption, retconned into some blood mage, all just to put her in a leather burkha with exposed feet (the character designer for MK11 is a massive footfag). This philosophy of theirs had the integrity of a wet tissue, considering they later made Sindel hot anyway, except NRS fucked that by making her into a power-digging cunt, & by proxy making it look like they're sending a message that "sexy = evil".

What many don't know is that the mobile game got a great skin for Skarlet, called Assassin Skarlet.


I'm not saying it's a the best Skarlet skin of all time, even if it is best Skarlet skin post-MK9, her hair still looks wacky to me, & I still prefer MK9 version over it just for that alone (I liked her ponytail) But if there's one skin that deserves to be in the main game, it's this one.

I love how they made the hotter version's mask longer. It's great symbology of what happens to the man who sees this Mileena.

Putting aside the uglification, why remove the hat? It's the most memorable part of the design, if not the character. She looks bland without it. It's like removing Raiden's hat.

Almost all MK9 designs looked great, but MKX had some great designs honestly, despite the T&A nerfs & faces looking a bit weird. It has the best Mileena face to this day (the tooth-tards can fatality themselves, they are fetishizers, while cope & seething, & calling anyone who likes this a "coomer") & her outfit & hair looked cool, her Khanum outfit reminded me of MKD Mileena.


We can achieve Peak Mileena just by combining MK9 & MKX

MKX Revenant designs look cool as fuck too.

PC players were fucked again, because you can only play them on MK Mobile, unless you had skin mods. I personally prefer the MK Mobile version of Kitana a bit more tho. It's got some great Maleficent vibes.

Same with others like Dark Raiden, Liu Kang, & Jax.

The only issue with this Raiden was is that he didn't have red lightning.

Other games, I would say the Injustice Scorpion is my favourite Scorpion design.

It might be a bit on the nose for some, but somehow it resembling an actual Scorpion is kino to me. The concept design is even more on the nose, but I wish we got that.

For some reason, I find converting some parts of Raiden and Fujin's hair at the center into huge ahoges was fun and make it lighthearted by bias.

Raiden's most iconic things are his glowing eyes, cowl, white hair and ajirogasa (mouth beauty mark in my opinion); never miss these details for Raiden if you are trying to cosplay or draw him. Rain is better if he is not a Poojeet like MK1 did, I prefer if he looks more Persian much like his base inspiration. MK11 has those Persian-ish details that should match Edenia's general theme, but he is still an ugly nigger faggot with a nasal voice, so I concur with you for Rain's best designs.

Now, while I prefer his MK9 look, I do have a soft spot for Stryker's Armageddon design.

They are really badass, pleasant to look and simple at the same time; I really like Sub-Zero's crown-like headwear; but not his alternate skin.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I like Reptile's full reptile design from Deadly Alliance. I also really like Ermac's Deception design. Mileena's Deception design too. Shao Khan has always been perfect from the beginning. Noob Saibot and Smoke in Deception are great. Original Scorpion and Sub-Zero are always great too.

Troy Baker did fuck all with him compared with Matthew Yang King. The soothe is a nice contrast compared to Raiden which was probably the point but I think it works well. Made me like him very much. Sorry, Raiden. I'll pick your brother over you. You may cry to the Elder Gods.
