Why do they all seem to cheap out so hard on wigs? Like if they're that desperate to have long hair, you'd think they'd actually spend a little extra dosh on a well-made wig that will last them for more than like, a week.

No, the problem with pic related is that he is exceptionally gerontomorphic: Thin lips, long pointed nose, small eyes, aged skin, hollow cheeks, etc.
 
The more they try to "pass" (an impossibility) the more uncanny and repulsive they become.

It's like looking at a cooked human foot. "Why is this human foot seasoned, and with normal food garnishes and shit?!" It's worse than just seeing a regular severed limb, it's grotesque and degenerate, twisted and foul.

The absolute king of this was Fire (can be found in Rat Kings subforum) with a glorious $1.99 halloween costume tier wig.
