In general men tend to store fat in their upper body/midsection whereas women store fat in the lower body.

Truncal obesity is also a hallmark feature of Klinefelter syndrome (XXY chromosomes) and Cushing's syndrome (over-production of the stress hormone cortisol). The former is pretty uncommon but I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of guys with this disorder trooning out, but Cushing's syndrome is pretty common and can mess with mental function as well.
