Mouse - also known as DOOM Cuphead - One of classic Mickey's first major venture into the public domain will be in videogame form

Mouse really ran out of fuel after the second trailer, lack of enemy variety is concerning and the scenarios still look very plain.
IGN reviewed it not so favorably. TOO MANY REFERENCES!

Okay, if the reviewer was knowledgable of noir or 30s cartoons tropes, he'd know that Looney Tunes cartoons then WERE self referencial in spirit. Which is where MOUSE gets its inspiration from. Oh, and there's too much shooting in a boomer shooter with a noir twist. I have no words. Modern journalism.

Just for reference, IGN gave High on Life an 8/10 game even though that game also has annoying references too. IGN flat out needs to go.

Yes. The main villain is Nazis/Right-wing party of your choice. The BMP (Big Mouse Party) wear badges and armbands with thunderbolts and are genociding the shrews. Pretty blatant about being Nazis from the very start. The final boss makes a fake news quip so it's not trying to hide anything.

Though depending on who you ask the police, religious people and non-minorities in general you kill would also count as Nazis so you could say that you spend the entire game killing Nazis.

I want this concept except with actual working cartoon physics like squash and stretch, rubberhose physics and pits not affecting you if you can't see them. As is, it just looks like a Unity template shooter with some textures replaced.
Sulfur has items that give you "coyote time" which is how long it takes for physics to affect you once you walk off a ledge like wil e coyote

There's already a speedrun of it.

I'm seeing thumbnails of MOUSE: PI for Hire that are colorized. They don't look right. That said, I would think a color update as an extra feature would be cool for novelty purposes.

Pirated this and couldn't get more than 10 minutes into it. It's just.. bad. The gunplay's just godawful and somehow it feels like a flash game.

I just picked that up and didn't put much time into it yet, but I love the attention to detail it has. Spritebased enemies having a 'gore' sprite that you can selectively reveal by hitting them with the sword like you were scratching a scratch ticket is just phenomenal.

Tried it and it was way worse than pretty much any boomie shootie (or anything vaguelly retro themed) I've played in ages.

Always funny when there's some talk about journofags giving something a "below average" score for meme reasons and the game is just shit and should have gotten an even worse score.

This game's story features an evil political party of mice who want to genocide the "shrews" and there are characters in the party with Trump haircuts who complain about fake news. The dialogue is constant anachronistic reddit reference humor. There are blatantly gay mice who talk about scatplay. They name drop the word "sigma" specifically using its modern-day context. It game stars Debra Wilson (Wolfenstein bug-eyed black lady) and Troy Baker, who plays the main character.

Also, it literally has an achievment for punching a heckin' Nazi:

Mouse is utter kiked-out troonslop of the highest degree that hides behind its artstyle, which is evidently a cheap parody and not a sincere tribute its era. Makes sense, considering the people who made this game likely despise everything the artists behind those old cartoons believed in.

Just play Cuphead if you want a rubberhose-styled game with actual soul put into it. Don't give this 'indie' game your time or money.

Not surprised. It's another deconstruction of Disney and an attempt at owning Walt Disney since most people believe the lie that he hated jews.

...This can't be real. Isn't that game for teenagers IIRC?

...Goddamn millennials.

Even better, these are not actually not-neezis! as they're meant to be Americans, so it's an excuse to attack and kill anyone you don't like, as usual. Even better, the devs are so incompetent that editing the WASD keys was added with a patch (one fitgirl sadly doesn't include yet), which is an annoyance for left-handed users.
Oh, and it costs 30 dollaros for like 8 hours, which is too expensive for such an indie game to boot. Plus the steam shop already states there's a DLC underway.
One thing I found funny is that the exclooosive! comic that comes with the game is utter shit and too short, but it shows that the not-Jews are shady and scummy, so there might be a reason why no-one likes them, ops.
Then, of course, one day, for no reason at all, fascists gain power because people voted incorrectly.

More like to shit on anyone liking classic cartoons, as modern Disney won't even blink at this shit.

The game is really a modern half-baked Bioshock Infinite, from detective Troy Baker protag all the way down to stereotypical anachronistic political villain, like Bioshock Infinite wasn't half-baked enough.

Okay, which one of you guys will add this to the KF Guide to Woke Games list?

Huh, didn't see Debra Wilson on IMDB earlier or I would have noted it. There's a literal magic negro shrew character doing a stereotypical Mammy voice and I was trying to figure out if they actually got a black woman to play her. Guess it was old Debra Wilson.

Was also wondering if there was a last minute change to the plot. The villains kidnap someone they state is closest to the main character's heart. It's turned into a joke, but the main character assumed it was the girl he raised from a teenager. Wonder if they realized they almost set-up a groomed love interest.
