Yo bitches! Wanna see a movie? I love movies but I also have to be warned if they're are any triggers that might set me off on an emotional breakdown or killing spree. Thanks to Movie Triggers I don't have to worry anymore!

"Pikonic, are you on drugs? What are you talking about?"
Firstly, no fuck you. Secondly here's a bit from their FAQ

What's up with triggers and trigger warnings?
From the Geek Feminism Wiki:Trigger warnings are customary in some feminist and other spaces. They are designed to prevent people who have an extremely strong and damaging emotional response (for example, post-traumatic flashbacks or urges to harm themselves) to certain subjects from encountering them unaware. Having these responses is called "being triggered".

Here's a fun example:

And remember, not all movies are good for everyone. Always make sure you and your movie viewing partner will enjoy a trigger free movie.

Just to let yall know better, "triggers" are supposedly the same thing as when war vets with PTSD or other trauma are reminded of the horrifying things they have seen and experienced by seemingly innocuous things and are thus subjected to horrifying emotional and mental distress. Remember if you will the old stories about shell shock and how former soldiers would break down in tears on the street when they hear a car backfiring or for seemingly no reason at all. This also is sadly infamous for affecting victims of sexual abuse and rape.

Tumblr SJW types have decided in their infinite empathy, class, and respectfulness to appropriate this term for anything they find mildly objectionable or uncomfortable, or anything that they think they can get SJW points for claiming is triggering

Just giving you a lil bit more context for how much you should fucking hate the site and anyone who uses the term "trigger" in this manner

Damn, perhaps this would do better in lolcow.

IF THIS ENDS UP IN SPERGATORY I WANT THE WORLD TO KNOW @Absinthe WANTED THIS IN CHAAAAAAATTT!!

In my defence I have a poor track record of wanting things which turn out well for me.

As for you, Pikonic - 10/10 resilience would conspire with again. Hmmph!

Lord, I go to movies all the time that "trigger" something. Lately, all these movies have been made by Marvel, because I am weird and seriously hung up on shit that lives in the happy land inside my head that is sort of my CWCville only with much, much less sperginess and WAY more Avengers and X-Men. I count on these. I like to cry in the dark (I'm am excellent at movie crying, I am very silent), I like to cry at the movies, it gets some stuff out and when it's over I take a great big deep breath and it is often useful for me to say things like, "You know, the part where Tony Stark had the gigantic anxiety attack and skidded the car to the stop and freaked out in the middle of nowhere? Yeah .... that was exactly what I felt like when I tried to explain what that's like when it happens to me". So, hey there you movies, pull that trigger, I can handle it and, fuck, relax, kid, it's only a movie! Wait till something REAL comes along and that hammer draws back ...

Exactly, if it's too distressing (or awful) just turn it off, it's not real! Nothing compared to real life.

I'm terrible for crying during movies too. I know it's sappy, but I can't watch The Notebook without a box of tissues.
