Earlier I was stumped looking for a T.V series from either the 90's or early 2000's. It had a woman who was killed early on but returns as a ghost or an angel to protect her younger brother from the agonist, who's the devil in disguise and causes the locals to sin. The only thing i remember from the show there was episode I believed John Goodman guest stared as a priest who's sin. The only lines I remembered when the ghost woman said, "kiss me" to the devil and he said "what?"
I tried in vain to find the show on Wikipedia or IMDB. Ultimately I was about to give up when I discovered I had the wrong actor as the priest! Pat Hingle guest starred as Father Tilden in American Gothic (1995), which Merlyn Temple (Sarah Paulson) plays the spooky ghost girl and Lucas Buck (Gary Cole) who plays the small town's sheriff and corrupts the locals to sin and cause harm to each other.
Despite the show only lasting one season it has a small cult following. Which to be honest doesn't surprise me. Seeing how Buffy the Vampire Slayer has a dedicated fanbase, multiple other supernatural themed serial dramas like Charmed or Sabrina the Teenage Witch have their own fans too. I haven't watched the series from start to finish but I might give it a try one day. I do like Lucas Buck as both a corrupt sheriff and devil in disguise character. Reminds me of Needful Things by Stephen King in a way.
