Movies that are so bad they're good. - A thread dedicated to recommending films that beat the odds and manage to be entertaining despite being terrible.

A personal favorite of mine, I don't see it mentioned very often but it's a hidden gem of a trash movie. What seems like a meat n' potatoes low rent 80s action flick has a surprising amount of fun stuff: a charisma vacuum leading man with the least snappy comebacks ever who bites the head of a snake off during a car chase, the movie turning into a cannibal flick three quarters through then going back and an ending that reeks of budget depletion. The production was equally crazy with the crew getting shot at by insurgents in the Philippines while doing shooting on location and an escape attempt by the main actress ending up in what can technically be considered a kidnapping.

Was it really so bad that it got good? From what I remember it started out cringe, and when you got somewhat used to the terrible dialogue, it just got boring after a while. I ended up falling asleep halfway and never touched it again.

To me it was so bad it was good. I think it's one of those "Your mileage many vary" films. It certainly is a terrible sequel either way.

Most so-bad-it's-good movies are very dull except for one or two scenes (e.g. Troll 2). The Room has to be the most consistently funny of them all. Other favorites:

Battlefield Earth
Face/Off
Vampire's Kiss
Stone Cold

The movie as a whole is a slog, but the ending of Ralph Bakshi's Wizards is so astonishingly bad it defines whatever you call the exact opposite of catharsis; it's kind of amazing.
Face/Off is legit kino, how dare you!

How the fuck has this gone on for 3 pages without anyone bringing up troll 2?

and i'll add kingdom of the spiders to the list
I mean its got 1970s shatner and a spider invasion. What more could you want

If you’re a horror fan there’s tons of delicious cheese out there

The Dentist
The Paperboy
Pinocchio’s Revenge
Jack Frost
Dr. Giggles
The Ugly
The Guardian
Uncle Sam
Night of the Lepus
The Surgeon
Wishmaster

Deathstalker II

Roger Corman's attempts to ride the Conan the Barbarian tide were iffy at best and the first Deathstalker is a fairly by-the-numbers B-movie. Its sequel was shot in Argentina with no budget, re-using fantasy sets on the verge of collapsing and as fast as they could. Despite the performances being iffy at best.... I still like it, it has that comedic feeling of your most retarded D&D sessions with your friends. John Terlesky is almost charismatic as a failure-prone rogue and some actors even tried to put effort (the final duel word duel is indeed nicely choreographed).
