It's a well known secret that youtube doesn't turn a profit, Google simply holds onto it in hopes of one day turning a profit.

How long until Youtube chokes out its own userbase and we all leave for Youtube 2?

I doubt Youtube's financial statements take into account the value of using viewer data to better target advertisements across all their other products. That alone is a decent reason for Google to hang onto it. Chrome, Android, etc. also don't generate money, but they provide user data and a moat for their AdSense golden goose.

I mean, if this is all about YouTube so be it, I hate them too, but what other video sites are linked to besides Twitch? It's old hat to hate on them and very few platforms are willing to compete. It's not a riot without a conflict. A conflict is needed to start the autism war against our YouTube rights. Even then, not a lot of people will follow over, and that's for another thread..

Mumkey deserves his channels. They're informative at times, and at times funny but he's not consistent for my liking. I may have beef cause he owes me a video or audio clip from when he had a fiverr, but he doesn't care. I guess neither should I.

Somebody who works in law enforcement recently called into The Dick Show to talk about a conference he was at where some dumb chick used clips from a Mumkeyjones video as evidence for a seminar on the dangers of incels. She was either willfully ignorant that it was satire, or was just plain stupid. Either way is scary.

The problem is as vidme showed breaking into the social media game is next to impossible when 2-3 companies run the show and the costs are high. Keep in mind this was also written in December 2017, before payment processors kicking off clients became the most common corporate censor tool of choice.

Any new competitor is either going to have to be funded with cryptocurrency and have a good host from the get-go or be at the mercy of payment processors, advertisers, and webhosts regarding which content is acceptable and how fast it's deleted. Just look at every "alt-tech" company that pops up, from Bitchute to Gab and you'll see what I mean, and that's on top of the major problem with tiny social media sites which is that they'll never gain critical mass.

That's pretty much every notable social media ban nowadays. Nobody ever gets banned from just one service like they might have 10 years ago, it's always a cluster of social media sites banning someone almost in lockstep and oftentimes it's after hit pieces as well.

He got famous for his Mumkey's Anime Reviews, which were satirical and usually mocked anime reviews you find on YouTube. He's also known for making various videos documenting aspects of Elliot Rodger's life, such as his obsession with winning the lottery, leaked emails indicating a fucked up family life, and the supposed worst night of his life in which he got the shit kicked out of him. These were all pretty entertaining, but Mumkey openly admitted to having an edgy sense of humor, which is why some people think is why he's targeted.

There is another rumor going around that it's a girlfriend of a friend of Mumkey's who's doing it out of revenge for calling the police on said friend for beating her (really fucked up situation all around).

It's always been easy as shit to get your channel taken down. YouTube was never a bastion of free speech, at least in the last decade. Content creators who rely solely on YouTube have been playing with fire for a very long time.
