Music So Bad It's Awesome

For the longest time I seemed to remember a song and video from like first grade. Couldn't remember the name or lyrics or much other than it was about dinosaurs. I started to think maybe I'd dreamed it or something.

But no, it's real, and it's amazing.

The song itself is pretty good. The video pushes it firmly into so bad, it's awesome territory.

Featuring G.E. Smith (who is trying his best to steal the show) of SNL and Hall and Oates fame on bass, and the future Vinnie Vincent on guitar!

If the title of this "demo" doesn't crack you up, the "music" will.

The music itself is even more hilarious. The riffing is childish in both structure and performance, and the vocals are, for lack of a better word, autistic. Oh, and there are no drums.

Adriano Celentano's Prisencolinensinainciusol. Originally written as a response to the influx of American pop music in the charts of 70s Italy, and the people who liked listening to it, despite having no knowledge of English whatsoever.

It's literally gibberish, but my god, the fucking beat on it. It's wonderful.

I want to get annoyed by this but can't stop listening.

I really like the metal cover:

Almost all of the so-bad-it's-good music I know is from my own country which I won't reveal because I don't want to. Regarding "international" music, I can only think of 80s disco hits that everybody knows (Blondie's "Heart of Glass", Limahls "Neverending Story" and so on). And metal.

Rhapsody (of Fire), for example, is a wonderfully cheesy metal band that got me into this kind of music. Initially I was observing a discusion about ridiculous metal videos and Rhapsody featured prominently. The music instantly won me over.

Here's a famous gem. I think the contrast between pompous lyrics and the low-budget video is hilarious:

For this video they were so fucking cheap they couldn't hire a model and asked the guitarist's gf to flash her boobies instead:

Maybe I'll add something later.

Lil B, famous for intentionally making the worst possible music as a joke and gaining millions of fans for it. Motivational speaker, genuinely good person, constantly smiling, walking old ladies across the street. I love Lil B and his terrible, terrible music.

Not sure about the "awesome" part, but it did make me laugh my ass off:
