Music your siblings [in(directly)] forced you to listen to

The shins, OAR, matt Nathanson, 3 oh 3 my younger brother listened to these during college. I in return made him listen to Hawthorne heights. And Green Day.

Good times.

Thousand-mile road trip, brother and cousin had control of the music. They thought this was the shit.

My big sister was into everything indie rock coming off MTV2 in general, but she was mad crazy about The Kooks for many many years. Probably listened to their albums front to back a thousand times thanks to her. I didn't really mind, I ended up liking them too and I still listen to some of their earlier songs now and then. Those were different times... I just really really hate what's popular now. Can't we as a society go back to White boy music collectively instead of kang trash, K-pop and ratchet hoes? 🙄

No, I'm not old. No, I don't have boomer mentality. It's factual. I win, YOU LOSE

My sister is obsessed with Taylor Swift. Not only have I listened to her music, but I get updates any any gossip or beef she may have with a person, whatever she names her cats, and when her mom's birthday is.
My sincere condolences. Keep strong, sororicide comes with serious prison time.

My sister loves Ed Sheeran - to the point my BIL (who looks like fucking Ed Sheeran) and her danced to one of his songs at their wedding. Whenever she'd put on an Ed Sheeran song in the car growing up, I'd send her this until she changed it.

My family listened almost exclusively to Yugoslav music. There was lots and lots of folk, way too much turbo-folk* and occasional pop and rock.

The internet and Napster (later supplanted by Kazaa of all things) were a godsend, otherwise i might have grown up thinking shit like Era Ojdanić was the pinnacle of Balkanese tonal architecture

*The soundtrack to the Yugoslav wars and a fucking war crime in itself. Here's a pretty decent description by someone from Medium

Hahaha you just reminded me of my chronically online Pinterest phase. For those unaware, there's a subsection of the huge meme community on Pinterest, that calls themselves "mentally ill Pinterest users". It's even more cringey than it sounds. One of their core traits is "Ed Sheeran slander". Behold...

Amazing LOL.
TLDR- yapping about pinterest--
As an aside, I always did think Pinterest deserves a community watch thread. Everyone is always shocked to hear that it's no longer a simple app for moms seeking recipes and home decor (although that's definitely still there). There's a shit-ton of memes and a shit-ton of fanart, and ofc those two things mixed together attract autists. To give you an idea, the active users are basically the same 11-17yo's that use tiktok and xitter. A thread about them would just showcase their spergery. Maybe one day. Ah... Sorry for the off topic ramble 😅
So to answer the op--I am actually the eldest sibling of two, so afaik MY music tastes have influenced HER music tastes. I went through a phase around 12-14 of near exclusively listening to movie soundtracks (ost like Hans Zimmer, Michael Giacchino, etc). I grew outta that but interestingly my sister went through the same phase and is still in it.

My sister forced the entire discography of Justin Bieber on my life. Now with some occasional Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo. The only ones she played that I liked were Lana del Rey and Marina Diamandis.
