𝕏 / Twitter / X, the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter / "MUSK OWNS TWITTER"

twitter makes most of its money by pushing ads on the millions of brainless normies who go there to follow their kardashians, beyonces, sportsball players and hollywood actors
the journos, the wannabe journo grifters and their fanboys are not where they money is at

The money and influence on Twitter is absolutely with journo grifters.

Why else do you think Elon folds so quickly every time they’re displeased? He knows who holds the power.

Substack links are already back. If all twitter needed was an avenue for the karadashians to repost their TikTok’s this wouldn’t have happened.

So they drove off one of the few remaining actual journalists in existence. Good move Musktard.

Maybe but he seriously doesn't actually need Twitter. But they need credibility, and they're pissing it away with nonsense like this.

Anyone can see from the substack and NPR label debacle the establishment is pushing hard on Musk.

Don't forget how things were before.

Anyone can claim to be part of the group. The Anonymous group, like almost everything else, was hijacked by social justice activism after blompf's descent from that elevator in 2015 or w/e.
There is no longer an Anonymous group that can speak for "hackers" and anons like circa 2010.
Things were apolitical back then. That era is over, these accounts are just infected shells of a former body.

Don't forget market research! Though I suspect that is more Facebook's thing. It is almost like there used to be a way to express ones self on the internet without fear of moderation. What even is self hosting anymore?
Why else do you think Elon folds so quickly
Because he is autistic.

How did Anonymous become such a fucking meme. I see they ditched the Guy Fawkes mask, guess they no longer want to blow up parliament. Look at this article: V for Vendetta review

How far have we fallen in 12 years? I can't imagine a review like this coming out now...mostly because there isn't anything intellectually challenging coming out of Hollywood. Not to mention, holy shit we've gone even further left than I had originally thought.

“Seething” is their default state of being, there is no hypothetical scenario where they would not be seething. They were all seething before Elon, they’d be seething over something else if Elon didn’t own the platform. There’s no denying the seething is absolutely minuscule compared to when trump was posting.

NYT main account is the only one to lose its check mark, and that’s only because Elon had to publicly announce he was removing it because they hurt his feelings. Lame. Every other random journalist writing for whatever leftist blog still has theirs. Including all NYT topic accounts.

Elon has now backtracked over labeling NPR “state media” calling it a “mistake.” The major accounts on Twitter have all the power. If they really are losing reach this probably has more to do with the constant technical errors and loading problems that plague the site.

exactly this. people are so fucking hungry now for even one single drop of enemy blood that a retarded bumbler like Elon can be lauded as Epic™ simply by getting the libs mad at him specifically for like two days at a time even though mad is the default setting for all online culture warriors. but all this provocateur shit he does bespeaks a screaming desperation for people to like him. that's why he keeps doing one thing to troll people and then takes it back after people start screaming their heads off. and he swings wildly by day, some days he's in hijinks mode, other days he's in super serious business mode, there's no strategy, none of it makes sense. Elon barely has a personality. he's just another empty rich retard trying to farm upboats and if you're one of the people glued to his antics because "it makes the other guys real mad", friend, you badly need to log off and find a better hobby

Elon is good for a laugh at people I don't particularly care for's expense
That's mostly what I'm enjoying about the whole thing. Musk is fucking with Twitter, and hopefully in doing so it will keep losing its undeserved reputation for being important. I don't care about or like Twitter, and that extends to the people obsessed with it.

But the seethers seething, and being hypocrites about using the platform they've declared evil, is just icing. As has been pointed out, they're always seething and always being hypocrites. But the fun part is that as Musk bumbles about, they're having to watch this platform they're addicted to become less and less useful, prestigious and catering to their desires.

Whatever Musk is doing, whether any of it works or not, it's fun to watch their impotence in the face of someone they can't bully. It's fun with troons vs. JK Rowling, and it's fun with everything from Tumblr rejects to America First-types vs. Musk not giving them what they want.

Pay for the golden Parachute
Justice Department Recently Looked Into Twitter, Lawsuit Says
The focus of the inquiry was unclear, but several former executives said they had racked up more than $1 million in expenses dealing with it and other legal issues.
A lawsuit filed on Monday by several former Twitter executives said they had personally spent more than $1 million on legal expenses related to shareholder lawsuits and several government investigations, including an inquiry by the Justice Department.
The nature of the Justice Department inquiry and whether it was ongoing, was unclear. The lawsuit, filed in Delaware Chancery Court, did not offer other details.
Last year, the Securities and Exchange Commission began investigating Elon Musk’s purchases of Twitter shares and whether they were properly disclosed. Twitter is also under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission, which is scrutinizing the company’s privacy practices.
The Justice Department has aided the F.T.C. with past investigations into Twitter. In 2022, the agency joined the F.T.C. in a $150 million fine against Twitter over misleading users about how it treated their personal data. The Justice Department also often assists the S.E.C. in criminal investigations.
Twitter is facing shareholder lawsuits related to Mr. Musk’s acquisition, including one that named its former executive officers. And one of those executives has been subpoenaed to appear before Congress, in a hearing that addressed Twitter’s content moderation policies.
The executives who filed the suit include Parag Agrawal, Twitter’s former chief executive; Ned Segal, its onetime chief financial officer; and Vijaya Gadde, who was its head of legal and policy.
Mr. Musk, who bought Twitter in late October, fired the executives on the day he took control of the company. They said they notified Twitter of the expenses more than two months ago, but the company had not paid, according to the lawsuit.
Since buying Twitter for $44 billion, Mr. Musk has aggressively cut costs, partly to pay the debt he took on to fund the acquisition. The loans have left Twitter with about $1.5 billion in debt payments a year, while advertising revenue at the company has fallen about 50 percent, the billionaire told a banker conference last month.
Later in March, he told employees in an email seen by The New York Times that he valued Twitter at $20 billion, less than half what he paid for it.
Twitter has eliminated more than 75 percent of its 7,500 employees and has been accused of refusing to pay bills owed to vendors, suppliers and landlords. The company is also accused of missing payments to software services, janitorial contractors and real estate management firms, leading to a host of lawsuits.
Mr. Musk fired Mr. Agrawal, Ms. Gadde and Mr. Segal, as well as Twitter’s then-general counsel, Sean Edgett, “for cause,” and refused to pay the executives tens of millions of dollars in compensation and severance. Mr. Edgett is not part of Monday’s lawsuit.
Mr. Agrawal and Mr. Segal have racked up legal expenses responding to inquiries from the Justice Department and the S.E.C. during and after Mr. Musk’s acquisition, according to their lawsuit. Federal authorities contacted them around July 2022, while they were still employed by the company, the complaint said, with the S.E.C. asking Mr. Agrawal in September 2022 to preserve documents. The Justice Department contacted Mr. Agrawal and Mr. Segal’s lawyers “later in 2022.”
They are also named, along with Ms. Gadde, in a shareholder lawsuit. Ms. Gadde incurred legal fees related to her February testimony before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, which focused on the company’s decision to briefly restrict a 2020 New York Post story about contents from Hunter Biden’s laptop.
“Once again, Twitter has failed to honor its contractual obligations to pay its bills,” Aaron Zamost, a spokesman for Mr. Segal and Ms. Gadde, said in a statement.

My point is like, NPR at least has SOME grounds to “um ackshually” it, but the BBC is LITERALLY, undeniably, state-funded and thus state-affiliated.

Um ackshually while the funding of the BBC is decided by the state the funding itself doesn't come from the state. British law is that to watch a TV you need to pay a license fee, which the BBC collects. It doesn't get the money direct from the state.

Where the government of the day can apply pressure is to threaten that source of funding, but that's a long term pressure not a 'change your editorial line on story X if you want your cash' threat.

Whatever Musk is doing, whether any of it works or not, it's fun to watch their impotence in the face of someone they can't bully. It's fun with troons vs. JK Rowling, and it's fun with everything from Tumblr rejects to America First-types vs. Musk not giving them what they want.

WTH are you talking about he always caves, immediately at the slightest amount of pushback. He’s the most easily bullied man on the planet.

Musk desperately craves approval and attention more blatantly than any 14-year-old girl. The only similarity he shares with JK Rowling is wealth, otherwise he is her polar opposite.
