𝕏 / Twitter / X, the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter / "MUSK OWNS TWITTER"

great job Elon, now I am 100% of the time rate limited and can't use twitter anymore from my banned account. You closed that loophole, congratulations for keeping the dangerous individuals out of Twitter.

You think that's bad? Twitter went like a week and a half with a broken Arkose test.
There was a test including dice (different from the current one, this one was a number on the left side and you had to match the dice to the number), and you had to do this 5 times.
Problem is, even if you did it correctly it would say something went wrong and then +5 to the amount of times you needed to do it.
I got it as high as 20 before just deciding their system was totally busted.

It seems overnight Elon decided to implement a feature that only allows Verified users to send Direct Messages on Twitter, this would be an interesting option to be able to set if you wanted to keep burner accounts out of your messages however this option is now the default setting.

I will go to sleep easier knowing that ChingCheong, Catturd, Poso and Mario Nawfal will be richer for their skillful tweets. Let's not forget Cobratate! Truly, he will need the money.
Last I noticed, catturd had been denied any money whatsoever and was seething with rage. It was extremely satisfying to see.

Who cares what they're called? If they're actually generating money for the platform, giving them a cut so they keep doing that makes sense. It's not enough to keep this shitheap afloat but seriously Musk has had way worse ideas.

His decision to let advertiser algos break the threading feature after all of the Twitter Files articles were posted as twitter threads was one for the ages.
His hostility to substack costing him his relationship with 2/3 of the Twitter Files journos is a close #2.

Anything he does that really pisses people off is fine with me. If it makes Twitter better, good. If it nukes Twitter to the ground, even better.

Is anyone else having problems with Nitter?

When I go to someone's profile page, it either says "No items found" or it shows me old tweets from 2022 and earlier.

It was working fine yesterday. I've tried different instances, but they're all the same.
Nitter is very inconsistent and doesn't work for me half the time.

Yeah, same here. Sucks, the one time I actually needed to look at something there...

Looks like bad news:

That's what nitter uses:

edit: I just tried a couple of nitter instances and when clicking the Tweets&Replies tab, it showed the latest tweets on a couple of different profiles. If you're on Android, Squawker (a fritter fork) seems to be working fine.

Is this where "X" comes in? That name has been in the rumor-mill with his venture for some time now. I do wonder how the Twitter addicts will respond to a "rebranding."
Same way they did his purchase. Coping, seething, and clicking. They can't leave unless the alternative gives them more dopamine.

Seems like Musk has officially made it public that they are going to be abandoning the Twitter branding

This seems kinda retarded. I know people use Twitter for the ecosystem, not the super cool branding, but changing the feel of something makes it easier for people to switch to an alternative.

Look at Meta, they still have their products branded individually, just do that with X Corp or whatever. Why do this at all? Is there a 4D chess reason or is he stuck in a mindset of continually changing things until it works?
