MuWire is an open source anonymous file sharing program, created by a former LimeWire developer, that uses the i2p network to obfuscate the identities of it's users. At time of writing there are both GUI and CLI clients, and hash as well as keyword searching. I've not tested it extensively yet, but I figured I'd drop info about it in the event that anyone is interested in playing with the application. The developer's Twitter can be found here.

Were they scummy? I don't know much about the death of limewire other than that the government shut them down. the code is available, at least.

"MuWire is completely free and open source. There are no bundled ads or offers of any kind."

I'm guessing this is only useful if there is hundreds of thousands of users, not dozens. Any traction?

Inform the russians, maybe they'll be interested. They're still sailing the seas quite proudly.

Finally, the ultimate crypto currency makes it's return...

Ok, this shit is pretty cool even if it takes like 10 minutes to load and It's been 30 minutes and I still haven't been able to WI-SYNC into zlatinb's chat server.

Who uses I2P? The last time I tried checking it out, it was impossible to access. I2P is only for people who absolutely know what they're doing otherwise you could wind up breaking your own internet in the process.
its pretty simple, ur just a retard. worst case scenario you just have to uninstall it and give up

I have been using slsk for about 20 years at this point, it's a kosher music service. I guess ISPs don't monitor traffic from Israel? Never got a DMCA complaint across multiple service providers
I know slsk is a proprietary network but what's it like for other shit? Is it good for obscure stuff or are you better trawling old pirate bay?

Please don't talk about that publicly. I need it for my edm music downloads.

It's a java app that creates a local daemon that you can connect to and configure via your browser. It's not difficult to manage at all. Read the documentation.

Maybe I'll eat crow later on, but for better or worse, I truly believe that onion (tor) or garlic (i2p) routing will become pivotal in the future for censorship resistant content. I tried this out and it doesn't seem great; the lack of users certainly is a problem, but it's a valuable first step.

EDIT: if you have a pathological aversion to java, i2pd is a version written in c; nevertheless, java apps aren't nearly as bad as they used to be, and this "java is slow" meme needs to die.
