I'm gonna be honest, I agree. I usually don't like the "lolcow" half of the forum because much of it is people I've never heard of who said stupid shit. That's why I stick to off-topic, because here we discuss games, movies, nerd shit that I actually care about.

The only "lolcow" threads I read tend to be for names I recognize, and even then I read them only every once in awhile. Like the Spoony thread. And then for me its always tinged with a bit of sadness because I never had the malice towards the guy others do, but rather I'm sad to see the current state of someone who is, for me, a nostalgic figure.

That all being said... nobody is forcing you to participate in lolcow threads. You can stick to off-topic or Autistic Thunderdome like I do, and talk about stuff that actually interests you.

I found a lot of good/interesting content outside of lolcow gossip and I haven't even been to all the various subforums yet. There's no requirement to like and/or participate in lolcow content if you don't want to. In fact, you can collapse those boards and never have to look at them in the UI again.

That was the culture and nature of the original platform Kiwi developed from. It is pretty much a tabloid site at its core, for both niche weirdos, to internet celebrities, to actual celebrities.

I hope you come around and try again. You've probably already done so, but, I would encourage you to check out the general, off-topic threads. You are bound to find people here to talk about this sort of thing with. There's a big part of the site set aside for non-cow discussion. I'm guessing you were probably a bit younger back before Kiwi was, well, Kiwi, when folks were much more accustomed to forums than they are today, but seriously give it a shot sometime and even though it's slower than what you're used to you're sure to find a group of folks you like talking with if you stick it out.
