My Little Pony

I've always hated them. They are supposed to be cute but I think they are creepy looking and fall wide of the cute mark. My Little Pony, skinny and bony, made out of plastic and cheap elastic.

I used to really like Friendship is Magic when it got popular. I was among the earlier people to call themselves Bronies, actually. I always liked it more for what it could've been then for what it really was, though. I mean, the show was pretty fun but what I really liked was the drive the fanbase seemed to have, the willingness to say "You know what? Let's get excited about something cute and innocent for once and maybe challenge some gender roles while we're at it!" which I thought signified a positive change in the kind of media that's usually popular nowadays. A sort of... return of unironic idealism to the forefront of popular culture that Bronies would be the first wave of.

Needless to say, the subculture around it went on to develop in a way that made me rather sad. I'm still a bit frustrated about that. I mean, you know, you have this fun, innocent thing you thought made the world a slightly happier place and then people start to fuck stuffed animals. I was in denial for a while, telling myself that it's only an insignificant minority of people that made the community look bad but at some point even I realized that it's rotten to the core. It's a bit sad, I really thought we were onto something there.

I don't know if the actual show is still any good. It kinda lost me after the third season.

Season 4 was prett decent IMO. At least compared to 3.

To be honest though, I'm not really too interested in season 5, whenever that comes out. I feel the novelty of the show has kinda worn out and I feel like moving on from it.

How are people still taking this thread seriously?

Son't worry, once it gets to page 4 people will continue taking it seriously after your warning drops off the most recent page. Nobody reads back pages of threads anymore these days.

The one only thing I like about the show at this day and age is the artstyle. It has that simplistic charm around it. Plus, the dragons look badass.

The ponies themselves though are honestly freaky to look at.
