If the speed runner was referring to being inspired by narcissa when he was going by cosmo it's actually the correct reference. It's like when people refer to kareem abdul jabaar as Lew Alcindor when talking about his college playing time.

What’s really sad and pathetic about this, besides the obvious manchild who would rather die than get a job, is the only thing Narc wants to spend his time doing is playing dumb video games. He thinks the only enjoyable way to spend every waking moment is in the sickly blue glow of a screen with a controller in hand.

I get video games are a fun hobby for millions but imagine if you felt it was the only thing worth doing in life and any other option would “break your spirit.” you’d rather kill yourself than not play video games 24/7. Smh.

It’s sad his life is so empty and shallow that video games have totally consumed it.

Also, lol at him thinking anyone can go through life only doing things they like to do or that’s even a good idea. Good thing he doesn’t love food or he’d be a bedbound 800 LB monster busy only doing what he loves via stuffing his face.

The irony is if he was pushed outside of what he thinks he likes he might actually find out there’s a fuck of a lot more to life than playing video games. He might even discover there are much better and more enjoyable activities than vidya.

The guy who was running Gauntlet Legends phrased it exactly like that, and people still got pissy about that as well.

What's funny is that the Gauntlet Legends runner was a super cordial and well behaved person. Like, almost to a fault. Thanked every compliment and donation that was read. Thanked, not "gave shoutouts" to, everyone who had helped him learn his run. He even dressed nicely for the event whereas everyone else just wears an ill-fitting graphic tee that they've owned since high school and some jeans. Guy was the textbook definition of classy and yet he's still a transphobe I guess.

I think more spectators and asspatters get upset over people mentioning "Cosmo" because Narcissa has done fuck all for speedrunning since transitioning. Cosmo though, guy was a legend. Sure he was a dick with an ego but when you're dominating a game as contested and embattled as Ocarina of Time I think you get a bit of a free pass on things. He was WR holder for a while, discovered tricks still used today, and was one of the first breakout stars who found success on Twitch. Meanwhile, Narcissa gets 61st place in a Mario Tennis tournament. It's night and day. By people keeping Cosmo's memory alive they are merely reminding everyone how much of a fall from grace he took post-transition and everyone from "LGBTQIA+" with an agenda doesn't like having to swallow that pill.

Look at all the people who passively give shoutouts to Cosmo for inspiring them to start running games. He's been mentioned what, three times now? And SGDQ is only a day and a half into their broadcast. I have heard zero people bring up Narcissa by her new trans identity only. Not just in the past 36 hours at SGDQ but in general. Acknowledging Narcissa is always predicated with "Cosmo" as a lead-in.

That's the really sad thing, Cosmo isn't dumb and he has real talents, there's a reason he was a well known and beloved member of the speedrunning community before he went insane. Just because now he wants to speedrun retarded categories that he made up himself it looks like he's a joke of a speedrunner too, but he wasn't always.

On the deadnaming thing, I had some old gdq vid come up in my recommended and it said Narcissa, even though it was Cosmo on the screen and the on screen text had Cosmo listed as the runner. So they have gone to a big effort to stop deadnaming.

I seriously believe that more people know about "Cosmo" than the fact that Cosmo became "Narcissa." And unless Cosmo--that's "Narcissa" Cosmo, by the way--does something to make a name for himself through something other than insulting his viewers and showing off his sex toys, he's never going to defeat his past self.
