Cosmo is the anglified version of Cosimo, an Italian name. Cosimo de Medici is probably the most well known Cosimo.

Same way Michael is Michel in French/Spanish and Michele in Italian.

Some names are super cultural, Cosimo for Italians and Louis for French, you would rarely see it in English (unless thats their native name)

I mean, even if you buy into "Narcissa," he was still "Cosmo" when he actually was an inspiring speedrunner. I can't imagine anybody being inspired to do anything other than heavy drinking while witnessing his "Narcissa" persona.

In a bitter twist of irony, the fact that they're making a huge deal out of calling "Narcissa" his original name, "Cosmo" is actually making even more people aware of the fact of who Narcissa once was.

If you actually believe that "Narcissa" is the new Cosmo, you'd respond with confusion or indifference if somebody said "Cosmo," right? Your reaction would be something like, "Cosmo, who's that?" Stamping your feet and crying about it just shows that you've something to hide.

Getting OT but I own a Switch and don’t really play Fortnite but misinformation like this is annoying. Only Sony has their own server for Fortnite. Meaning Switch is crossplay with PC and Xbox, you aren’t just playing against other kids with a Switch.

Ok, I forgot about that, but I don't trust them. Playing Rocket League on PC with a friend on PS4 is a horrible experience.

I have a guess, can't prove that, it's an intuition: cross-platform matchmaking is ridiculously rare, this feature is mostly for inviting friends.

I wouldn't say it's entirely impossible, but it's unlikely that he wouldn't know, especially being a speedrunner himself and allegedy being a former fan of Cosmo's. If you can cite Sig and Cosmo as your inspirations, it's unlikely you've just never cared to check what they're up to for the last 3 years or so, and Cosmo gets like a million articles on Kotaku and shit all the time because they're virtue signalling for him at every turn.

It's a remote possibility he wouldn't know, but it's much more likely that he did know and either wanted to trigger Tumblrites or genuinely doesn't know that Narcissa even does speedrunning anymore, therefore saying Cosmo since ... you know... That guy actually did.

What!? This is so wrong on so many levels... Should we expect everyone to be updated to each person identity change? This dude clearly admires Cosmo, one of the best speedrunners in the history of gaming, he got emotionally attached to one of his streams, does he has to stay up to date to his life in order to know he changed his name and gender?

Also, what SGDQ can do about this? The streaming is live, they didn't know he would mention that why blame them? Blame the speedrunner instead.

I was sure, for the first few years that I was aware of Cosmo's existence, that that's a nickname. What kind of crazy person would name their kid Cosmo, right?

There's a funny quip about how he didn't want people to know Cosmo was his real name, even though it's his username.

The working in AI bit is rich. The AI market is incredibly hot right now and most companies require a Master's or PhD minimum. It's a bit hand-wavy in places but definitely not on the par with the psuedo-intellectual bullshit thoughts Narcissa spews.
