I looked up and saw the same sources you did. The community themselves, though, largely state that the MtF get noticed more in public because of a number of reasons. They transition later so already have the adult male bodies that have fully been through puberty, in addition to the fact that a lot of what we deem "feminiity" is artificial i.e. makeup, sense of style, haircuts, mannerisms, etc. So you have a lot of cases where people like Cosmo have no earthly idea what they are doing just base their persona on a lot of stereotypical "chick stuff" they think women should do, and it comes out terribly. So their argument is that while it may seem that you encounter more MtF, FtM have a higher degree of "passing" so you are interacting with them without knowing it (or are incorrectly thinking you're seeing a butch lesbian). MtF's are pretty easy to identify. But like many of you I don't know if I believe that, since MtF seems to be a lot more prevalent.
In Cosmo's case, he claims he doesn't identify as or never aims to be a woman. His official identity is "trans femme cat girl" whatever the hell that means. Which, just as a matter of coincidence of course, just so happens to be the exact same thing his friend Roger ("Rachel") Bryk identified as before he committed suicide jumping over a bridge. (Info about Roger here: https://www.app.com/story/news/loca...9/parents-friends-need-step-forward/26615063/). Roger's death had a huge impact on Cosmo and is one of the factors not discussed often.
People that are actually suffering from gender dysphoria and go to the efforts to be the other sex/gender should (and do) hate people like cosmo and all the other ridiculous ones in the speedrunning community. I mean the dude's most frequently used avatar was that of a 12 year old girl from an N64 Castlevania game!
This is 100% correct. Cosmo was fragile and his buddy deciding to 41 himself pushed him over the edge far more than the Numbers Humiliation (which is fun to joke about but probably didn't contribute as much as some think).

This narrative would seem to have contributed to the demoralization of young women, and in a time when trooning is offered as a cure all escape from your lot in life, it is taken gladly.
Note that the majority of troons today are teenage girls; years ago it was entirely men —likely trooning for fetish purposes, but it has shifted sharply in the past ten years. It would seem they troon on the idea that they will receive no respect as a woman, that they will be kept from any material success by "the patriarchy", and thus that they can only succeed as a man. The irony of it is the best result they can hope for is baby faced neckbearded manlet and truly; can you name a lowlier form of life?

Cosmo isn't a master at any of the hobbies he has. When he "codes" he just takes templates or alrady well designed engines and then plunks around until one of his hoverers with actual coding knowledge tells him what to do. His coding/gamedev level is that of a high school student at best.
He also claims to be a master of AI, machine learning and computer algorithms. Obviously he knows absolute 0 on that subject. Then of course there were the times when he pretended to know high level astrophysics; yah ok Cosmo.
Even his speedrunning is the same now; whenever something gets hard, he quits. We'll never know what job he got when he initially moved back to Wisconsin, but if I had to guess his parents forced him into it and it was a colossal failure. They also probably saw that it made him ineligible for whatever gubment/social programs he's on.
The only reason he went back to Zelda briefly is because someone found a new glitch that let him beat the game with almost no effort; all of the skill he tried to hone over his years speedrunning was thrown out the window when he could just walk to a certain spot and beat the thing in 4 minutes (with like 3.5 of those minutes being cutscenes). So he got a few world records the instant this thing was found by autistically watching the same intro cutscene over and over and playing for 30 seconds at a time, but he gave up on even that when other people would re-beat his records a few days later.
And now, he only plays games that are on a path of no resistance; a lot less work has to go in for world records when you elect to play games no one cares about (Beetles Adventure Racing, Castlevania 64), instead of cutthroat ones like Zelda.
Oh, and he also plays Smash Bros. a lot, famously one of the least skill-intensive fightan games available.
