Dunno if that's him, but this twitter is filled to the brim with pathetic Star Fox/furry sperging.

Is that bullshit dripping out of the side of Fox's mouth?

I kinda don't buy the whole "Everyone quit watching Narcissa b/c they hate transgender people thing".

Like, there was a lot of hate thrown around on the typical places. But if you look at the number of viewers who regularly watch Siglemic (who was a comparably popular speedrunner back in the day), it is about the same as tune into Narcissa's streams. The common denominator here isn't hating transgender people, it is that both of them stopped speedrunning.

I honestly don't know how a person could expect to maintain their viewer base when they stop doing what they are popular for. It would be like Peyton Manning expecting for people to tune in every Sunday to watch him just shoot the shit rather than play football.

Not entirely relevant, but here is an old Cosmo pastebin about speedrunning:

I don't blame anyone for not getting through it. The whole thing comes across as the ramblings of a mad man. At the time, most people took it as just a silly pastebin that didn't mean anything... but in hindsight, maybe it could been taken as a sign of Cosmo's wavering mental health?

Idk, I don't think this is indicative of anything more than being obsessed with speedrunning. And it honestly makes sense that, at the time, one of the best in the world at speedrunning would be obsessed and have really detailed views on everything. I mean, it is autistic, but it is a speedrunning guide so that kinda goes with the territory tbh.

He had a similar (very well thought of, even still) video explaining wavedashing in Melee, though it is now private like most of the stuff from the Cosmo days.

I stopped watching Cosmo when he started doing smash bros streams with the audio from Harry Potter audiobooks playing instead of just using his mic. Because I followed him for speedruns, not that. It makes me a bit sad, because I did genuinely enjoy his content back when he was doing OoT and WW and his streams introduced me to speedrunning. What a fucking downfall. Wouldn't have minded if he went tranny but stayed the same personality-wise and kept doing speedruns tbh.

Many people who made their careers off the internet fatally mistook interest in their work for interest in them. On Twitch, only the elite "variety" streamers ever had the fortune of a viewership that would watch them play anything.

The big lesson here is that to abandon what made you popular and not fail, you need to have cultivated your new viewership well ahead of time. Cosmo quit speedrunning cold turkey, axed his identity and then had the balls to blame "transmisogyny" when nobody wanted to watch him anymore.

Had Cosmo slowly integrated new content into his stream a year or so ahead of quitting speedruns (as in not playing Smash for a month straight, doing one run and going back to Smash) he could've retained plenty of viewers, but his obvious disinterest in being the same person still would've hurt him.

I like how she claims the only reason people watch is for the stupid game, not her. And now she does fucking camshows and fails to realize the only reason anyone watches is they get off fetishizing transgender people, and they watch for a tranny, not for the person.

I've wondered if it's really that simple. It must be true many of his viewers are just opportunists who latched onto his Kotaku story, but I like to think some of them were just progressive-leaning fans who desperately refuse to give up on him just yet. They know saying it means a ban for concern trolling, but they hope there's a little grain of the old Cosmo left in there and he'll come back if they comfort him enough.

There's no shortage of crazy trannies to white knight if that's your thing, and most of them don't demand you watch 10+ hour depression-cam marathons while you do it. The ones who're still at it must think they're helping him, but ultimately the only person who can save Cosmo is Cosmo.
