Ok, so 'mainstream' (as in less niche than kiwifarms) reports on it now too, that likely means that he will NEVER get back on twitch.
Even if it is just a joke or the insane ramblings of a severely mentally ill person, once you post you want to do that thing there is no going back. You can never go back to that place.

There's plenty of games where the any % category is not seriously run. Zelda ALttP and Pokemon Red/Blue are good examples since they can both be beaten by anyone in a minute or two with no challenge at all. I guess that's the difference since it does take some skill to use the current method in OoT. I'm just going by what I want to see as a casual observer. I'm not really speedrunner so I'm not really the best to judge.

Just wanted to touch on this real quick to further highlight the absurdity of the situation. So, you're not wrong about it being an overreaction. Twitch very much jumps the gun when someone is reported for racial slurs, especially if it's the forbidden gamer word. That's why a lot of people who try to troll Twitch streamers specifically mention reporting the channel and saying it's for racist stuff.
Thing is, dumb as Twitch staff are, even they recognize false reports/misflagged content is a thing. If Cosmo hadn't flipped his shit and resorted to threatening to shoot himself/Twitch staff/had taken any steps to actually contact Twitch instead of ranting on twitter/discord, I bet his account would be back up in a few hours. Especially since he didn't actually say nigger or anything. If I'm following right, it was just a text box, not Cosmo typing it, and not even the word directly. Twitch is also pretty famous for not giving a shit about non big name streamers, which Cosmo would know because he was consistently getting banned/timed out when he was streaming. I think it was like, 30 times or something. And even then, he still ended up getting his account unbanned. I don't know if anyone mentioned how long he was banned for this time, but I'd bet it was a temp ban and not a perma one, even if he didn't feel like getting it disputed and overturned.
Sperging out and threatening to shoot the headquarters though is something else entirely. I have no idea how Twitch would respond to that, but I don't think it's a stretch to say they'll be harsher than if Cosmo simply said they were false flagged. I know something similar happened to DSP when he was still on Twitch, he said something that sounded like nigger, got pulled, but was back like an hour or two later after he emailed them and basically said "I actually said X and got false flagged" And this was either when he was already departnered or at least didn't have his representative backing him.
TLDR- All Cosmo had to do was send an email and wait maybe an hour or two to have the situation easily resolved, instead chose to have a mental breakdown and threaten a mass shooting.

What is it with Twitch streamers and treating ban hammers like its the end of the world for them? Like no fucking shit the janny's of twitch isn't gonna let you get away with saying "crackers" because its a racial slur no matter how popular you are. They're not gonna ignore the rules they put in place just for you.
Doesn't mean you gotta instantly go full on meltdown and pull shit like this.
I mean,fucking Leafy is perma-banned on YouTube and god knows how many other sites have blacklisted him yet I haven't even see him mentally breakdown and decided to go postal on a HQ.
