This happened too. He's finally looking for a job!
The ellipses really inspire confidence.

As usual, Narcissa still isn't as clever as she thinks she is - why would they not skew rankings towards time-played rather than skill, it means any schlub who buys the game has a chance to feel good about themselves. If only there were some way to prove your skill in a more favourable environment tailored to extreme competitiveness, with its own ranking boards and investigative process, live events, perhaps some place where the speed and accuracy of video game runs are measured and categorised and the superior player is determined thereby...

Switch is a casual console. If you don't believe me play a match of Fortnite on Switch and compare the skill of the players with PC, it's beyond jarring.

Why Nintendo would bother with a hardcore, skill based, leaderboard while 99% of their fans are ultra casuals?

I really can't understand Narco's ramblings anymore but I think this ranking is similar with Mario Kart 8. If you play a lot, even winning no races, you still improve your score. people are playing this game for years and nobody has cared.

You don't think that has something to do with the fact that a keyboard and a mouse is just much more suited than a gamepad for these kinds of games?

Getting OT but I own a Switch and don’t really play Fortnite but misinformation like this is annoying. Only Sony has their own server for Fortnite. Meaning Switch is crossplay with PC and Xbox, you aren’t just playing against other kids with a Switch.

Correct, you are playing with soyboys, and manchildren too. Narcissa should fit right in

Get good console plebs :smug:

The PC jealousy has been duly noted.

This guy is the definition of Peter Pan syndrome, jfc.
He's not...too severe, sort of...? At least in that regard... He can at least live in his own home without setting himself on fire. He understands concepts like paying bills, earning money, and so on. He's willing to do so. He's aware that he needs a job. He obviously doesn't want a job, but I don't think it's from an abject fear of doing so.

I always see Cosmo as intentionally self-destructive. It's an endless cycle where he wants to use misery to justify his failure, and so he'll induce failure in order to continue his misery. People don't watch him anymore! ...Because he went out of his way to insult his audience. The community hates him now! ...Because he actively tried destroying and backstabbing the community he was a part of. He doesn't have any money! ...Because he refuses to get a job and spends it on drugs, hormones, and video games. He reads nothing but mean and awful comments online! ...Because he literally searches out these specific things and responds directly to them while negatively reacting to any positive responses. All these things seem like some cruel hand dealt by fate which was completely outside of his control--at face value. But a cursory look reveals that everything wrong with Cosmo's life is his own fault, but the last thing he would ever want is to admit that.

Why does Cosmo act so civil when he's responding to us or obvious trolls, yet is downright cruel and antagonizing to people who try to support him? Because he wants a constant stream of self-induced "misfortune" that he can blame everything on. As long as it's everyone else's fault that he's an unlikeable, hated, unemployable failure, then it can't possible be his own. The idea of accepting responsibility for his own actions (or more specifically, his own shortcomings) is absolutely terrifying to him. The pity bucks from Patreon and donations from people dumb enough to fall for his "woe-is-me" act doesn't help, either.

I'm going to predict that when he attempts to reboot his "career" as a competitive Smash Ultimate player, one of two things will happen. Both involve him failing, of course. Possibility 1 is that he fails and blames it on the "problems" he already has, like a negative reception, poor funds, or a depressed attitude. Possibility 2 is that he fails and blames it on the game or the community, saying that the mechanics of the game aren't appealing to him or that he feels alienated in the community somehow. I say this because both possibilities are effectively the same thing Cosmo always does--fail because of his own lack of intentionality, and then blame it on everything and anything but himself.

It's not even a mind-set that inevitably leads to failure in life, and a lot of people have these tendencies but manage them to a degree. However with the e-fame she got as Cosmo, I think it gave Narcissa the excuse to throw modesty and hard-work aside and despite not having any basis to be sure of things, choose to fully embrace her fantasies and put all her chips into expecting that she now has it made both economically and socially. The moment something that called this into question or when any difficulty emerged after her long period of hedonistic drug abuse, she had already willingly thrown away the skills she had learned to deal with it over the preceding years of her life, and collapsed in on herself. The HRT certainly didn't help in this regard.

Disagreeeeeeeeee. The only money Cosmo made was through pursuing a hobby. The money was just a side effect of the autism he'd already be engaging in. He pays bills using money that was accrued years ago, he doesn't bother with the idea that you should ideally make more money on a monthly basis than you pay in bills. He doesn't "understand" paying bills, just that he knows he has to give away some of his magic video game tokens that he keeps in the bank so that he can keep jerking off to trap hentai in his hovel.

I had a friend in high school who made decent cash playing vidya - this was before the Twitch.TV explosion - and he rode it out for a few years. Not enough money to pay rent or move out from his parent's house, but it was probably pretty decent, as much as you might make working at a McDonalds part-time and he got to play Halo instead of making french fries or whatever. Eventually though, the hustle kind of petered out and instead of growing up and going to college or getting a real job, he just kept trying to figure out how to make playing video games bring in an income, and now he's stuck with no work history or secondary education. It's the same shit with Cosmo - he lucked out for a few years and is too dumb to find a new hustle now that the old one isn't working anymore.

I do agree that Cosmo has absolutely failed in maintaining a sustainable income, but I don't imagine him staring in utter bewilderment at the numbers on his taxes when they come in. He regularly begs for money to pay the bills on stream, so he does at least understand the severity in not being able to make ends meat. I still believe his inability to do so comes from willful laziness rather than ineptitude.

Toons are getting butthurt because the Iconoclasts runner said Cosmo Wright (instead of Narcissa) inspired him to speed run during an interview.

Sorry for the ignorance, but if they split him/her into as a 'dead' persona and a current one, why is it wrong to be inspired by what Cosmo was and not what Narcissa is? I get that in retrospect Cosmo had his fair share of narcissistic red flags, but I'd rather have been 'inspired' by someone that at least contributed to a community vs. whatever Narcissa is pretending to be right now.

Because that makes sense, obviously.

Because Cosmo has always been Narcissa, and we have always been at war with Eastasia.
