Here is an archive of the YouTube upload. For anyone interested in the story behind it, arbitrary code execution is now possible in OoT, and is already being used in recorded speedruns. "14:22" is 2:19 behind the WR at the time of this post, though Speedrun.com currently has Narcissa listed as 8th, with an official time of 14:23.216. The vid has no commentary, facecam, or explanation. Most of the comments are pretty good, most people celebrating the return to OoT, except for this lad, who will probably get the comments disabled on this video too:

Wouldn't take long for him to get a fraction of the audience he once had then start pulling stupid sleeping/weeping/whining/screaming/total fucking mental meltdowns on stream again. He has to drop the Narcissa persona, I ent even saying transition back to cosmo, just drop the narcissistic bitch attitude since
1: it’s uncomfortable for female viewers since it just shows cosmos subconscious option on women that there all like that and
2: he does it bad, you can’t be a narcissistic “spoiled bitch” AND be an emotional train wreck. It’s weird

Getting new records will probably only make things worse. I suspect it will start fueling his ego and he'll get more narcissistic. Then someone will beat his times, he'll get depressed and quit again, and thus the cycle continues.

No. I'm pretty sure that arbitrary code execution and stale reference manipulation (the new glitches that completely changed OOT speedrunning recently) only work on an actual Nintendo 64. He's also using the Japanese cartridge. I don't know if those glitches work on the American or PAL cartridges, but Japanese has faster text than those two anyway.

Not likely - he's #2 because there was a new glitch recently discovered that not everyone has had time to mess around with. Take a look at the top 20 and make special notes about how many runs were submitted in the last 10 days and about how many runs haven't been updated in 6+ months - a lot of those "old" runners are going to learn the new trick and get back onto the leaderboard and they're much more practiced than Cosmo is these days.

Cosmo saw a chance (being a NEET with no job or anything else) to get on the leaderboard just by being one of the few people who would have time to learn the new trick first.

I always found Cosmo to be quite the whiney, annoying type, but never really enough so to give me a good belly laugh like some of our other special internet people. Just never really found a person sulking on camera all day for like 8 people that entertaining.

That being said, some of the old speedrun shit he did was pretty damn good. He has some serious skills. If he really puts his nose to the grindstone to try and kick some ass, he could have some success.


All this talk of Cosmo really makes me miss stream.me (RIP)

People care now because it's new and it's shaking up a leaderboard that's been pretty stagnant for a year or two in a category that's pretty iconic for speedrunning (and Cosmo, ironically).

Realistically, once the leaderboard resettles and stagnates again everyone will go back to not caring about who the #1 person is. The only note will be for Lozoots for being #1 and discovering the glitch in question (they may wind up calling the the "Lozoots Skip").
