The documentary posed the question; would Narci let the allure of speed running get n the way of love with D-Girl. I think she probably saw that Narci's quest ended in failure in regards to the world records, and that she never ended up happy with D-Girl. So the documentary is basically null.

Hasn't exactly been a great year for the movie industry so I guess I have to give them the benefit of the doubt :/
They had the money and resources to get it done before the pandemic if that $50k was not paying for two wasted years filming Cosmo and they didn't have to pay a significant portion of it back to friends and family who helped them defraud kickstarter. Does 6 months and $40k, we'll be generous and say $10k went to backer rewards even though much of the rewards were playing games with Cosmo and shit that never happened, really not buy you an edited movie? I'm not in the film industry and I'm honestly asking. They got a pre-rough cut in that period.

It's clear Jane is the only person who cares about this because she is a frumpy geek who is wet for Cosmo. "I'm still in the thick of editing and animation...", not "the team" or "the editor". This is a personal project she built some hype around and got some people to sign their names to. She doesn't have anything on her IMDB since 2019 and that's a single credit as a producer for the entire year. Her work history drops off a cliff in 2016. Jane is in over her head and lucky that people who virtue signal by support troon shit don't care about results. Being on the right side of history is its own reward for them.

It seems like the kickstarter was to pay for Jane's cost of living while she took a year to edit the doc and use it to network. Maybe it paid off the two years spent filming and she got a job at Starbucks. It appears she has as much skill in editing as she does taste in picking subject matter and it's going nowhere fast.

Editors have been working or at the very least available to work the whole time though because they all live in NYC (that is if they're Guild members) and all pretty much worked from home anyway. In fact I know a lot of editors were jonesing for work for a couple months last year when basically all film productions were shut down.

There was no redemption (i.e. 20k viewers and a revitalized streaming career). Can the movie really end with the disappearance of our disruptive transgender metagamer??

My guess is that the movie ends when Cosmo hits his "world record" in BOTW in the category that no one else ran and that he himself created. It will probably me made to look as though Cosmo got "THE" BOTW record and then after that was forced to retire again due to harassment.

You know, I think that's fine as long as it satisfies the backers. If you were delusional enough to put money towards this thing then a pyrrhic victory is all you need to be satiated.

People outside the speedrunning community who watch it also won't bother to research what really happened because that would take too long and Google has completely bastardised the results. It's like the Supersize Me of tranny speedrunning biopics

They're already satiated. Nobody has commented on the kickstarter since around the time it was backed. I have periodically searched her twitter for people asking about progress and have only ever seen a handful in over a year and a half. The only reason for her to finish this is because she wants to. Nobody else cares. There is no way she has a mountain of PMs or emails clamoring for the film's release that we can't see. Some autist would have had a public spergout by now and it's a doc about a speedrunning tranny, so it's got more interested autists than an Autism Speaks fundraising gala.

On the other hand, Jane made sure her name was plastered all over the project. If she doesn't finish, will it tarnish her reputation as a filmmaker? Having spent 2+ years and then just throwing it all away will leave a big hole in her CV. Also, what would it do to Narcissa's psyche, if the only big thing that happened in the last 3 years just vanishes?

Just imagine being a young and upcoming film person and having staked your entire reputation on Narcissa's comeback. And now being stuck with the project. :stress:

I was wondering that too. It does leave a giant hole in her work history, but she's also getting profession opportunities from it. That's positive and negative because while that's allowing for networking and lines on her CV during missing work time, someone is going to wonder how the film that got her all of these wonderful opportunities turned out. I don't know how easy it is to spin a complete and total failure in the film industry. She's doing the editing herself and she isn't an editor by trade. Then wuflu hit. She can weave a story about getting in over her head, the pandemic turning her life upsidedown, and the subject of the film going underground and not working with her regarding the kickstarter, editing notes, whatever.

Narco went full Adachad and makes it much easier for everyone to track donations, thanks blockchain!

Sorry to derail a bit, but I just have to comment on RedProletariat's brilliant campaign. Now there is a dedicated LABEL to put on trans people? Isn't that the last thing any actual trans person would want, to constantly be not labelled as "a woman", but "a TRANS woman"? Didn't we learn in school that labels are bad? Isn't that why we went from "special people" to "special needs people"?

Well done, RP, the Führer would be proud of your work for labelling the deviants in society. Anything it takes to be special, right?

so nobody donated?
is In Active supposed to mean inactive?

So far the ADA address has only been posted on livestreams, which are later members-only on YouTube, so only existing Narco fans will even see it. I don't expect much activity on that wallet.

WRONG, bigot. Now everyone has a dedicated label. It's actually good and inclusive . Society did everything it could to make sure special people weren't thought of as special, but now we must do everything we can to make sure non-special people believe that they themselves are special. New programming received. In any case, the new twitch tags are placed by the streamer themselves (I think?) and is actually good because muh asspats.

No. Trans people want you to recognize they're trans, and still go through the extra effort to cater to them. They don't want to pass; that'd invalidate the journey they need you to respect. Contrapoint was on HealthyGamer on Twitch not long ago, and they brought up a lot of good points about the need for validation. How one of her friends passed from the get-go (Yeah, I'm sure :) ), but still told everyone that they were trans so that she'd get the attention.

They also want the pity points of being trans; advocating this whole "being trans is being half a human, not a real man or woman". If they could turn into a cis woman day to day, I honestly believe a lot of them would say no. It's like growing up in a poor neighborhood and becoming a millionaire: Most people would brush it off as "Eh I had a rough start", but trannies would write 3 books about how fucking unbelievable they are. "Look what I had to go through!".

They don't want to pass. They want to see the sane majority get on their knees and worship the ground they dilate on.
