Naruto/Boruto Griefing Thread

It’s obvious that in retrospect Kishimoto was a retard who lucked into having an editor who literally gave him the outline to a successful story and a brother who he ripped concepts off of who now hates him
Eh, I wouldn't go that far. It's not Bleach where 99% of the appeal was the designs. Naruto still appealed on multiple facets to people else we wouldn't still talk about it.

I'd like to think that it was fair for the time. A lot of us were still retarded kids struggling with school. So, yeah, the blonde fucker definitely had his appeal.

I don't even like Pain that much. The name Pain in general always made me cringe when I was young and first heard it. I remember specifically saying when I first heard it "Really? That's what his name? That's so edgy and cringey.." and for the entire duration of his time in the manga at release, I called him Pein with the Japanese accent just so I wouldn't have to say Pain because it felt embarassing. It didn't help that at the time, the chakra receptors weren't revealed yet so to everyone else they just looked like REALLY 2EDGE3ME piercings.
at least it's not cereal and granola

bleach is so shit it doesn't even have a thread here because no one wants to talk about it, even how bad it is

What a prick. I've never heard about this before but if true he's a fucking dick. If this is the case, it's no surprise Kishimoto's solo endeavors flopped so hard. Samurai 8 was borderline unreadable. Boruto has been a fucking trainwreck. The only good things he managed to do were post Naruto side stories and even those just milk how much people like certain characters.

I love Bleach, so you got my autism triggered. The problem with Bleach is that most people while reading Bleach didn't bother actually reading Bleach. That's why when "twists happen" people were so surprised.
Like when it was revealed that White was Zangetsu.
Even though earlier on, it flat out told you twists like this. You just normally don't pay attention to them or their pay off is so far ahead, you don't remember it. Sure, there are plenty of dumb things throughout the series, but for a lot of those moments, there was a reason. Here's another good example:

A lot of people complain that Ichigo being Quincy comes out of nowhere, but it doesn't necessarily. The Quincy powers were blue and always have been. What color was Ichigo's aura in the Soul Society arc? Blue. It suddenly changed to black afterwards and nobody asked why. In reality, Zangetsu explains that he was holding Ichigo back then, using his Quincy power instead of his power. So, retcon or not, there was an actual reason for this change and we just never bothered to ask about it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is a good thing. It isn't. Kubo clearly missed a lot of people with how he writes stories and that's not good. However, I am saying that Bleach gets better over time after reading it once or twice more. That's why it's so much more well received now than it was back during it's run. Also, I think the material after Bleach ended like CFYOW did a lot to make the story better in many ways and fill in gaps the ending left unanswered. I also think he became a better writer after Bleach ended, but that's neither here nor there. The anniversary chapter was fantastic and some of Kubo's best writing. Hopefully we get a follow up someday.

No, it's more like Kishimoto's editor saved this manga from being yet another "cancelled in two years" page-filler. The editor was pretty much entirely responsible for jutsu names, Kakashi being as cool as he is, Haku being a human being rather than a bear, and Orochimaru existing at all. He's also responsible for Sasuke and Sakura, which people chalk up as a bad decision in the post-timeskip term but Sasuke managed to actually pull his weight in Part 1 and Sakura was good for one arc that was probably ghostwritten by an editor.

I don't even know why you're bothering to spoiler this. It's the most obvious thing ever. Doesn't change the fact it also being hollow powers is horse shit and retarded beyond belief.
Well that's why I go back to what I said about it not necessarily being a good thing. Sure these things are foreshadowed all along, but the messy things such as the HOW and WHY always are a little rough when you do this. A manufactured Hollow experiment by Aizen biting and merging with Ichigo's Mom, just because, even though it wasn't known to Aizen it would do that, and it just happening to pass down to Ichigo, is a lot to swallow. But either way, I think Kubo's writing is overhated.

I don't know if you read CFYOW or know what happens in it, but Ichigo's being all races isn't exactly a good thing and retcon or not, at least there's consequences to this. So even if it is bullshit, at least there's a payoff for it later. That's more thought and care than Kishimoto ever bothered to put in his stories...at least Kubo is TRYING to fix his.

Considering the shit writing, then from a technical standpoint, they really didn't.
You'd think after the multiple assassination attempts, Hiruzen would've iced Danzo. But noooo. How weak of a leader is Hiruzen supposed to be? This nigga Danzo has tried to assassinate him in multiple occasions and he still lets him run around doing whatever he wants. Was Danzo fucking his wife too? He seems to be able to get away with anything.

How was there no consequences for Danzo revealing to the entire village Naruto's secret about being the Nine Tails? He just revealed top classified information that puts Naruto's life in jeopardy. If it was more well hidden, and assuming Itachi didn't tell him, it could've taken the Akatsuki years to find out Naruto was the Nine Tails. How were there no consequences for this? How were there no consequences for Danzo's involvement in the Uchiha massacre or directly going against Hiruzen by killing Shisui? FFS, it's not like Hiruzen didn't find out.

legitimately, the only mistake in killing the uchiha was sparing Sasuke, missing Obito, and Itachi not committing suicide
they tried to end the goddamn world for christ's sake
at that point, there was no wrong done: they were doing everyone a favor

That's filler and should be left at that. Makes no sense. Hiruzen is far stronger and an outright better leader than every other person we see in Konoha. Danzo's only real crimes are undermining Tsunade's authority and using his hax eye to become subsititue Hokage. Naruto would've been in no position to repel Nagato's attack if they recalled him when Tsunade asked.

The only criticism people can make of Danzo is he isn't remorseful about what he did while fellating Itachi. Makes no goddamn sense. Oh, he's a big meanie. They were all child soldiers who were fodder at best and unappreciated civil servants at worst. I'm surprised everyone is as pleasant as they are.

Hiruzen didn't care about anything except watching children suffer and die. It's the funniest joke people made in the storytime and the only explanation that makes any real sense.

Any one else thinks that what ultimately became of Naruto is a result of Kishi just duct taping whatever he could come up with at the time? To me, it's the only thing that could explain that mess.
  • Were there supposed to be other tailed beasts in the beginning? It makes no sense to have the host of the strongest one be treated like an outcast while the Cloud treats theirs like a prized asset (as they should). Why wasn't Naruto given the necessary upbringing to master the Kyubi.
  • Whatever the fuck happened to the Byakugan, supposedly the stronger eye, didn't level up at all, while the Sharingan keeps getting buff after buff.
  • Itachi being the ultimate interdimensional time travelling go-chess-shogi-backgammon-poker-hanafuda player whose complex plot still worked out in the end even if his predictions didn't come true.
  • Hiruzen supposedly the strongest Hokage before the 4th being reduced to whatever the fuck he was worth by the time the War arc came about.
I could go on, but those are the things that stick out to me.

Bee is only treated well by the Raikage, which is more or less the same as whatever relationship Hiruzen had with Naruto or lack thereof. (If you mention that goddamn filler scene of him promising Kushina he'll take care of him, I swear to god)
The Byakugan doesn't go blind and if you think that isn't a downgrade because of the eye you can only get if you have a close relative that also unlocked this super special version of that eye you just might be retarded. I don't know how anyone can look at that and think it's good. Kishi had to invent muh fucking Hashirama cells to get rid of that. Uchiha are only carried by plot and Sasuke didn't win a single actual fight without bullshit in part 2.
Itachi was the biggest fuck up in the series, if we really think about it. Should've killed his dumbass brother but nooooooo. All the other kids were just fine. Just not that one.
Just ignore the War arc. Pretend it doesn't exist. Nothing is lost if you do. Really, the series is improved overall because it's just that fucking awful.

When the power the other eye grants you is sometimes quite literally reality warping, yeah, even if it's costly, I'd say the other eye is more powerful than X-ray vision and not even 360 degree FOV.

That's another thing that gives me the duct taped feel.

This one, I agree.

you go blind
your power is reliant on sight
therefore, you lose this ability anyway and have crippled yourself for life

Yeah, it's costly, but it's more powerful. I'll certainly call a samurai themed mobile suit more powerful than X-ray vision. It may not be necessarily "better" in all areas, but imagine the damage you could do.

Also, considering eyes are like light bulbs in Naruto, even if you don't have spares, it's not the end for you.

For the sake of brevity, let's agree to disagree.

It's not great when you consider the Uchiha used to be pretty abundant. Also it's heavily implied that everyone could use Izanagi as well, so much so they had to invent Izanami to stop it.

I always thought it was pretty lame what they did with Kyuubi in the war arc. Just look at his first appearance, when Naruto meets him for the first time. The way they only showed his eyes and teeth with the rest of his form hidden in the shadows gave him a creepy mysterious vibe. It really emphasized the juxtaposition of Naruto's immature and optimistic nature and the darkness called the nine tailed fox that resides within him. In the war arc, they made him Naruto's weird pet of sorts. It definitely made him alot less interesting and mysterious. That movie where Naruto fights Menma was the only time an alliance between Naruto and his tailed beast made sense.
