Also was getting ready to post. Didn't see this one coming. NASCAR nation going to be in mourning, was 24th in the standings.

I hope they at least reveal cause of death. Sad.

Words obviously can't fully describe the loss losing Kyle is. Yeah, over the off season we lost both Michael Annett and Greg Biffle, but they were both long since retired. Busch just finished 17th in the All Star race, and less than a week later he's dead.

Watch out in Heaven Dale, Rowdy's coming to get you.

Greg Biffle, Alex Zanardi, now Kyle Busch. 2026 has been a really shitty year for motorsports. (I know Biff was end of 2025 but still)

Honestly, I don't even know what to post. I wasn't paying attention all day, got home, and this is the first thing I see. I think I know what people felt about Dale, just a little bit.

Biffle and Kyle...awful year. At this point, it feels so cursed that we're about to see someone die on the track. How does a seemingly healthy man in his 40s go from normal to hospitalized to dead in 8 hours? That doesn't even seem like a heart attack or stroke. It's not like he dropped dead on the spot.

Even worse, this probably means Austin Hill, who sucks and is hated by everyone, becomes a full-time Cup driver.

Horrifying, some kind of sinus infection before/during Watkins Glen then dead 2 weeks later. RIP

Can't help but wonder if the doctors messed up or missed something while treating him. An athlete dying by some kind of disease at 40 is shocking.

I think Hill will manage to at least bring the car home every race he enters, so there's that.
I do wonder if RCR keeps the 8 running, or retires it and brings back the 31. Busch ran the 8 longer than Reddick and obviously it was his number when he passed. Clearly not as serious of a situation as when Dale died, but still has to be a question going around RCR right now.

If the origin was a sinus infection, there is a really good chance that it was an atypical organism, resulting in meningoencephalitis (an infection that went right from the sinuses into the brain), which, if not identified and treated promptly, would be absolutely fatal.
