Need help finding archived story/video about the 4chan anon who documented his attempt to use surplus soviet diving gear, likely ending in his death.

Hiya,
I was looking for info or archives about a story I read from 4chan a long while back about a guy who thought he'd be able to scuba dive with old soviet diving gear. He posted his documented tests and conclusions, and despite many warnings, he went ahead with using it further. The story ended with no further responses from the guy, but there was a newspaper article or a police crime blotter entry about a fire on a beach that night.
I think it was a video on youtube, but when looking for it now, all I find is a dead link from a reddit post. I've searched around google and on here but haven't had any luck. Is anyone familiar with this or know where I could find the story?

Did they ever confirm if it was real or if the guy was just trolling/shitposting?

I know the one about the Anon gassing himself was faked by an Anon testing SFX makeup.

If his expired gear caught on fire even before he began his dive so he tore it off early enough and did not get anywhere, he wouldn't report that either.
