So for the past year or two since MSPaint was originally discontinued and replaced by an alternate version, I've been using Classic Paint 1.1 as a replacement that worked really well up until I noticed a weird bug one day when drawing. It's nothing too major, just a weird glitch where if you fill in a space the size of a 1x pencil, a horizontal line appears.

I'm no tech guru, so I have no idea why this happened recently. So if anyone knows what's going on or can help me, feel free to comment.

Looks like a program or driver compatibility issue. What do you use to draw in Paint? A tablet and pen, mouse, trackpad...?
A mouse, it's pretty old but only up until now has there been any issues with the program itself. Before, it worked perfectly fine besides the occasional jitter from the scroll.

Paint is still around. It looks like the version I used on older versions of Windows just with a more modern look.

I've seen the new version, but maybe it's just me being autistic, but I prefer the older version from Windows 10.

My first thought is to try Compatibility Mode. It's possible that some recent Windows update has thrown something minor out of whack.

Find the program's .exe file, right click, hit Properties > Compatibility, and select a slightly older Windows operating system from the drop-down menu. I'm still on Windows 10, so the newest mode available to me is Windows 8:

If that doesn't help, my next step would be to fully uninstall and reinstall the program.

I tried what you suggested, the bug remained. I even did a full uninstall and reinstall before, but it didn't work.

Have you tried using a different mouse? Something could have given, I barely use the middle scroll click and that was the first thing that broke for a mouse that was just a year old. Wasn't even rough with it, but things can happen.

I think it's an issue with the program itself, much less the mouse. Thank you for your feedback though!

I downloaded the ZIP file and extracted it, it has the same issue.
Then it's definitely an issue with an input device. You sure you don't have a game controller or touchpad plugged in?

I have my mouse, my headphones and a microphone plugged into my laptop. I unplugged those and tried again, but the bug still persisted. I tried to look up some help a little while back and I found a post with a similar problem to mine, but the issue is that I can't update Classic Paint since it's basically abandonware and I don't know if there even is an updated version.
