Need help with something YT related

Okay so.... I have a youtube account I'm thinking of deleting, but first I'm going through it and making sure I have backups of any video that's irreplacable.

I mostly used this for either vlogs or just private/unlisted videos for family and friends.

Anyway, so for awhile Youtube's studio was being nice and just letting me download videos. However once I get to videos from about 2014 or earlier it starts bugging out (clicking download just returns me to the top of the list). And even when I try to use a third-party downloader service I get an error.

Now, I can still WATCH the videos, so clearly they're still on the platform. But I need to download and archive them.

I'm on Linux Mint.

So like, what should I do? Is there some sort of screencapture software I could use? Should I try again tomorrow in case this is just a temporary glitch?

Thanks for suggestions.

For Youtube and pretty much any other internet video service, yt-dlp should be the first thing you try:

If nothing else, even if that fails it should give you some sort of error that will help understand what's going on.

One thing I noticed earlier today when downloading teet yeeter Sidhbh Gallager's YouTube channel was that yt-dlp gives you an "X of Y" count as it downloads the channel contents.

So if you know roughly how many videos are in your account, you should be able to tell whether it's going to grab all of them.
