I don't think Schreier's talking about intersectionality, at least mostly.

Regardless, game development is not some type of esoteric line of work. For anyone who works in software development or a sector that has anything to do with tech, it's just heavily project based office work. Is it an arms race in some ways? Yes. But you know what you're signing up for if you work at big studio with any reverence.
