I still can't get over that Gamergate itself ended years back, but by sheer force of will and moreover stupidity, these SJW fucks wanting Gamergate to not be over (so they could blame it) managed to actually acomplish the destruction of one of the major anti-GG hives, something GG itself never accomplished.

I don't think we'll be seeing much from Playtonic again. Even without the whole JonTron debacle, they benefitted off of wayward Nintendo fans who wanted a modern take on Banjo-Kazooie style gameplay and then promptly threw those donors under the bus by canning the Wii U release and keeping the Switch version as vaporware. Any future game will have to be amazingly good to make up for the disappointment and burnt bridges that YL caused, and I just don't see that happening.

On top of that, there's Super Mario Odyssey which, based on my understanding of how Banjo-Kazooie worked, is actually a far more faithful rendition of that collect-a-thon platformer aspect than Yooka-Laylee in every concievable way, along with sidestepping the need to go somewhere to get transformed to do something on the other side of the fucking map by simply being able to POSSESS EVERYTHING by throwing a hat on it.

And also because it spawned that fucking hysterical GTA4 parody.

Yooka-Laylee is just kind of never talked about in comparison.
