Not necessarily on ETI. We're talking about a place that specifically doesn't allow you to search for posts by a particular user because archive stalking is so bad there. Getting that kind of request honored is... pretty damn unusual, given the culture.

If their idea is trying to make /v/ a safe space for GAFfers, /pol/arizing the /v/ userbase just seems like a hilariously bad idea.

True, but what I mean is, I don't think this has ever been done for anyone else on ETI. I tracked down a small topic where people were discussing it, and at least one person said "I asked the admins to delete my posts like that and they told me to fuck off." Some of them shared your view, the other half was expressing surprise.

Like I say, I wouldn't rule it out. But even if you're right about Schreier's reason for asking, I'm extremely surprised that an admin was willing to do it. Was he a special case because he was a journalist and had a seemingly legit reason? I just found something that said it might have been done after he had some posts leaked publicly, which is a big no-no there. Or did he have a butt buddy on the staff or something like that? I honestly don't know.

Either way, with them gone, it'll be hard to find out WHY they're gone.

Makes motive real clear within that timeline.

I actually think it happened quite a bit longer ago than that. Tomorrow I'll see if I can get a better date. I want to heavily emphasize AT LEAST a year ago, not APPROXIMATELY a year ago, just in case it would lead to any wrong conclusions.
