I was asking on one of the discords what gamergate was (because I still have no solid idea). The only response I got was "sexism"

What's interesting is that I've seen mods say that they're okay with conservatives, but just not people who support gamergate. Evidently hat's their reasoning for them not being an echo chamber.

I'd like to believe there's a GAFfer out there who's always on-edge when he leaves the house because some GamerGate plant might be spying on him to report back to the mothership, the official GamerGate Headquarters, on his exact movements and his discussion with his fellow resistance fighter about how Donald Drumph is totally Hitler.

... and then I realised that most of these people aren't allowed outside by their handlers.

My favourite is when they refer to it by names like G*m*rG*t* in hopes of avoiding the terms being namesearched... of course, Twitter and Tumblr's search engines see the *s as wildcards completely defeating the purpose of such self-censorship.

The chat became extremely silent as nothing was being posted. Someone by the name of "benzenes" changed his nickname to "letustalk" and promptly got banned and kicked from the chat.
I think mods are mad at Hiro.

Imagine if Hiro decides to do a mass cleansing of the mods on /v/, perhaps even remove global rule 15 so Barneyfag can finally stop ruining threads.

I gotta admit, I was a bit surprised to see that, especially since my modern impression of Lowtax is a spineless failure who let his has-been website completely deteriorate as long as he still got a paycheck.

Yeah, in the Waypoint/Vice article, Malka claimed that NeoGAF forums will be back up tonight.

I think maybe that got lost in all the noise.

This should be fun. I don't know how the hell he's gonna solo moderate the shit storm that will ensue.

At this point she's incapable of opening her mouth without putting her foot in it. In one of the more recent articles linked upthread, she says that she was in an open, poly relationship at the time of the shower incident (but she was only allowed to fool around with women). Unwelcome as Tyler's advances may have been at the time, his presumption that she might be open to a bit on the side doesn't seem quite so arrogant in light of that additional information.

Some slut called Zoe Quinn banged 5 dudes while in a relationship with a numale to promote her "game" about depression which was actually more of a PowerPoint presentation made in Flash. Her ex documented it all and reddit and 4chan censored it leading to 8chan and now dead reddit clones. Also other drama about other shitty people doing shit for industry game reviews and the revelation indie game awards are all insider circle jerks. Mainstream media called all of its supporters racist sexist devils. More shit happened now Trump is president.
