That society is so horribly transphobic that whenever a trans person dies through violence, whether their own hand or by someone else, the only reason is because that person was trans, and therefore suffering the weight of oppression.

You'd think they might find it dehumanising to remove any sense of personality, action or autonomy from trans people. To dismiss anything they do or any other problems they might have had as being secondary at best to being TRANS. But no, they're perfectly content to be eternal victims, prone to killing themselves if even one person questions their belief system.

Or really, we should say threatening to kill themselves. Because for all their caterwauling, and for how much we like to use the 41%, that number is grossly inflated. The evidence suggests that they're one thousand times more likely to say they'll kill themselves and refer to countless dead troons without ever, you know. Following through or mentioning specific deaths. Also because when they do, like with Chloe Sagal who they say the Farms drove to suicide, they are lying because inevitably there was some other reason or motivation that they've rewritten to attack their enemies.

Tl;dr: Yes, they literally believe thousands of troons killed themselves because JK Rowling said biological sex is real. There are troons who think it's legal to murder them in over a dozen states in the US. Never forget these are delusional, paranoid narcissists who actively fight off the truth.

That's just with Rowling though. Did the game make people kill themselves? Was there some sort of Lavender Town song playing in its OST that sent subliminal messages? Was it part of some government project like MK Ultra or had some sort of messed up thing like Polybius? Was there a red demon in the game that would stalk the characters?

A lot more companies have done things Resetera doesn't like, but I guess it takes something extra-special for them to remember it long enough to disrupt their consuming habits. Okay so initially they complained because Cyberpunk is all about transhumanism and extreme body modifications so that should also apply to transgenderism...and CDPR agreed! They said "HEY! That makes sense! If you can graft a new arm onto your body, why not a dick! Or tits! SURE!"

State of Decay 2 had the testicular fortitude to actually put BLM shit on the title screen of the game, constantly harp about the importance of diversity in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, and even make a thinly veiled reference to how the world is better off a post-apocalyptic wastleland than it was under Trump. (That said most of it is meta stuff, and the game itself is 95% apolitical.)

I think certain threads become lightning rods for social justice, and those are the dangerous ones to be in. There are probably less of those threads in the gaming side.

I've followed the "Pyra and Mythra added to Smash Bros" thread for a while--it started with a lot of complaints about how sexy the characters are, but gradually the prudish hand-wringers went away and now the thread is pretty much just Xenoblade fans talking about the character, the game, and the music.

However, in the "Troons complain about sexy female characters thread", there were several people who lamented the state of the "Pyra and Mythra" thread, as if it was filled with heathens and shouldn't be allowed on Resetera. They wanted Pyra and Mythra to only be discussed critically. But these are just people using a gaming forum in the way it was intended.

Okay, TO BE FAIR there was once a blind Mortal Kombat 2 player who could play well because of the game's sound design with each attack making very distinct noises so this might maybe be true-ish? I dunno.

All it takes is one person to decide to make a thread all about their hobby-horse - usually their own oppression - and that's it, the thread is toast. We've seen it countless times, one user is allowed to shit up all discussion on a topic to make it all about their grievances, and the mods just let it happen because otherwise they're being oppressive.

SJW spaces are very vulnerable to the Heckler's Veto, and the mods at ResetEra actively encourage that by playing favourites with both posters and topics. It's also why 'bad faith' is such a big thing in these areas, because these posters are functionally identical to trolls, but you can't say that because they're Literally Oppressed. It's why it's so easy for the people who LARP as the wokest of the woke on ResetEra to get away with it, because trolling is actively encouraged if it comes with the right buzzwords. If they actually cared about discussion rather than just being woke, they'd have a much lower Kiwi count in their user and mod base.

Astoundingly enough not only does the thread seem to be being reasonable and has not used the word "ableism" but it's actually a fair point and using the same title as the news article.

The character sound effects apparently have been set to mono rather than stereo which a glance over how it seems to matter suggests that rather than coming from roughly the direction of the character they're from a central location. I even looked up the game settings to see if there was a stereo/mono setting but it seems not.

Article title is still clickbait.
