Yep. These retards all subscribe to NIMBY. They don’t know what goes into manufacturing in general and they don’t dare utter a word about how yellow and brown people handle pollution and toxic waste. They don’t want to know how a Funko pop gets made and will get extremely butthurt if you try to explain it to them.

China's pollution levels are Hell on Earth levels.

Say what you like about our industry and its pollution, something like this would never be allowed in the U.S. in a million years. And yes, that is a lake completely filled with nothing but incredibly toxic sludge from rare earth mineral extraction.

Fun fact: rare earth minerals aren't actually that rare. They're just not found in pure deposits, so their ores contain them only sparsely. Therefore, mining and extracting them involves digging up and grinding enormous amounts of ore, then using incredibly toxic chemicals to separate the desired element from the ore. Then you are left with incredibly toxic tailings and in the case of the Celestials, they just dump them all in a giant lake.

There are rare earth mineral deposits all over the world, but China is the major producer because they are willing to take the catastrophic environmental hit extracting them requires.

To be fair we all went through the destroy our nations' environment for growth phase, the difference was we didn't know just how much we were fucking it all up and cleaner tech was not yet invented. Blame the west is an extremely common narrative from the environmental brigade its just disingenuous and using the environment as a vehicle for watermelon policies.
