I never bothered making any account on NeoGaf or Resetera. My question is: How are there still so many screenshots of users getting banned for making posts that are sane? I figured that sane people wouldn’t bother making an account on there anymore, given the reputation the site has. Is it just really easy to keep signing up to subtly troll? Are there just people who start out there bluepilled but then slip up and make a same post that gets them banned? Is it because a bunch of people sign up thinking it’s a normal video game site and have no idea how insane the community actually is?

I think its unlikely. The driving force of the riots was BLM. They had an above water public perception with the help of a lot of private funding and experienced organizers. ANTIFA just jumped in on their coat tails and rode the wave.

BLM doesn't really care about a biracial kid shooting 3 jews beyond it showing that their movement is weaker than they claim to be. ANTIFA is pissed about Kyle, and without the ability to use BLM as an umbrella, they won't be allowed to run rampant like they did last year.

You'll get some pockets of outrage, but politicians won't support it, the media won't cover for it, and the majority of the salt will be relegated to people on Twitter with rose emotes in their profile name.

I'm more excited for all the bans Era will be handing out for people that accept a very possible acquittal.

That's something I wonder CONSTANTLY. I don't know how there's a sane soul left on either of those sites. And my only theory is that they simply put up enough of a good front of actually being video game forums, and the people who join don't investigate enough--basically what you said up there.

There's also the fact that both forums have shifted further left over the course of their lives. I remember why I decided to sign up for NeoGAF when I did... it was because you were allowed to disagree with Anita Sarkeesian and refute her claims. That was a long time ago and not possible anymore, on either site. I think some people just failed to shift left with the forum and eventually were caught.
