Holy hell this shit is depressing, This generation I was always told were meant to be the techno-masters of computer technology.
Computers haven't changed fundamentally from their 8 bit days. The 2d sprite on a screen and a 3D human like avatar are still just a series of pictures rendered on the screen per second the only difference is faster processors, much more RAM, wider data pathways and better architecture but the fundamentals are still the same.

I've actually watched probably 90%+ of LPL's content and I can't think of anything he's ever said or done that gave me any idea what his political leanings are. I also don't act like a Catholic inquisitor when it comes to consuming entertainment so I didn't go the trouble of investigating his personal life for evidence of wrong-think like Orayn did.

I recall him mentioning that most of the guns he uses in his gun lock videos are his. Which is probably enough for him to get cancelled on Era, even if it is logical with his outlook on being informed about your own security.

Wasn't part of it that arabic/islamic immigrants doesn't pull their own weight and that part was about the migrant surge in Europe? He cited some dumb scientific racism claims (about black people being inherently violent/stupid and the like), and made himself look dumb because that’s Destiny’s entire debate strategy and JonTron fell for it. He actually did basically apologize without outright saying he was sorry. He admitted he said a lot of dumb things that he doesn’t actually believe, which would’ve been fine a decade ago before it was expected that you immolate yourself whenever you misspeak (and even then you won’t be forgiven).

In his later statement in which he clarified his views he more or less said he held a center left or center right stance on immigration, and also called out the nonsensical hatred for white people that is expressed by the left, but since he’s light skinned and named Jonathan I suspect nobody cared that he’s Iranian and labeled him a white supremacist/privileged anyway.

it's just low-effort posting. I kind of get it. Usually what happens is that some user clearly wants to voice an opinion that doesn't mesh with what everyone else in the thread is saying, but they're also worried that actually doing it would get them banned (because the mods and users are super sensitive). So they make a pithy comment that has a similar effect.

Pretty much, and Resetera mods tend to accept drive-by posts that fit their ideological preferences. It's only an issue if they suspect you of wrongthink.
