The amount of anti-west and pro-Iran stuff in their thread about the Jews attacking Iran is fucking hilarious. Some of them are really not good at hiding their fantasies of Israel falling. They've repeatedly posted propaganda making it sound like Israel is suffering from the attacks when life is going on just fine and damage is minimal. I won't lie I am worried will get involved in a more protracted conflict with Iran. I wouldn't have bombed them, for example. I think Israeli hasbara about muh nukes is disingenuous and not as credible as they want them to be. But to ResetEra users it's obviously just a race war to them. It's not about wanting to avoid protracted foreign wars or not wanting to fight someone else's fight. It's about brown=good, pale=evil.

If they were not going for the bomb then they are also retarded for enriching uranium at over 10x the level needed for civilian/energy use, because all it does is raise suspicion and alarm. Either they were pushing towards making a bomb or wanted the threat of going for one, either of these two would still lead to the current situation I think.

Iran can "deserve" it all it wants, I voted for no more foreign wars (among other things) and it's wrong to even risk putting us in one without a damn good reason, and "Israel best fren, Iran weapons of mass destruction, America freedom no burqas more gays" does not qualify. Israel has been two-more-weeksing Iran getting nukes forever and a day. This idea that Israel/USA has carte blanche to do whatever the fuck it wants, including acts of war, and the rest of the world has to acquiesce, or else the USA ends the world, is coming to a close.

The "Iran could have nukes real soon" thing is true to be fair, with their uranium enrichment they can easily go to the 90+% for a bomb as they've done the hard part already. Iran having a nuke would be bad for the US. This seems like a massive win for Trump because the Iran retaliation was weak and it looks like no American lives or equipment has been lost, in exchange Iran's crown jewel nuclear facility is at the very least severely damaged. Also the B-2s got to put on a show of force. It was never going to escalate into a full blown war because Iran doesn't have the means to hit the US homeland and I don't think anyone was ever contemplating troops on the ground.

I don't want to belabor this line of thinking because it's really not the point of the thread, but here's the deal: Trump won on a lot of topics, but "no more foreign wars" was up there. It's a big deal. Whenever you take military action like this there's a chance -- not a guarantee, a chance -- that it escalates into full blown war. A full blown war with Iran might happen, but it also might not. Trump blowing up their nuclear facilities without it escalating into a war might be a win in the long run (if it turns out they were likely to build a nuke soon and he quashed that) but a loss in the short run (because it makes him look like an Israeli puppet), and a stalemate if it doesn't escalate to a war but Iran wasn't effective in their nuke-making efforts. Trump blowing up their facilities and then it escalating into a war is a loss in the long run and the short run, whether or not they were about to successfully make a nuke, because it will confirm that he is an Israeli puppet and we got roped into another protracted military conflict at their behest.
So, from a decision-making standpoint, this comes down to a question of if you want to roll the dice. You very clearly do and would. However, to be blunt, I wouldn't and don't.
