How behind the times are these people? Cyberpunk has been known for over year now. Sekiro was teased December last year.
These two games aren't total surprises at all but then again, I shouldn't expect these idiots to be up to date on everything gaming since to them- they wouldn't be on Reeeee-era if they were.

Like many of you I am super excited about Cyberpunk 2077 and generally loved the trailer that was shown during E3. There was however one tiny bit of footage in the trailer that I was disappointed by

Now this may be better explained in the game with more context but even if it is, I am disappointed that of all the images they could have gone with to represent an Indian in a game during a major conference they decided to go with a stereotypical taxi driver.

Indian representation in games media is pretty piss poor as it is.. We rarely see Indian characters playing central roles in games and even when they do they are reduced to a stereotype - either a taxi driver or a hacker... It is disappointing CD Projekt Red would fall into the same trap.

Like why cant we have an Indian man or woman who is a diplomat,, banker, artist etc... why does it always have to be a taxi driver.

Uncharted LL was one of the only few games that actually had an Indian as the main protagonists and handled it well ( even though It was disappointing that it was ultimately a white woman voicing Chloe ) and I was hoping it would kickstart a trend that would get more Indian characters into the mainstream but I guess we will forever be relegated to taxi drivers or spiritual gurus ala BGE2

Complaining about the voice actor not being the same race as the character they're voicing is fucking dumb, especially in this case considering Claudia Black voiced Chloe in two previous games. They aren't going to change voice actors to accommodate the character's sudden racial identity (seriously, I haven't played Lost Legacy but I had to look up that she was Indian, which should show how irrelevant her race is).

"Low quality" just means a mod or two tended to disagree with the poster. Putting it out there like that is an attempt to shame the person being moderated - which reveals vulnerability, pettiness, and generally unsavory character in the moderator responsible. It reflects poorly upon the entire board and Era as a brand (for whatever that's worth).

I realize the administrators at ResetEra couldn't care less, or at least it seems that way, but if they continue to moderate in such a manner they're going to rapidly become the same dejected self parody NeoGAF was in its final days. Some would argue Era has already descended to that point, and I would agree when it comes to the off-topic section thanks mostly to that one troon whose name escapes me and Slayven, but the Games section is still on the precipice, yet to tumble over.

I guess I didn’t pay close enough attention in the previous games to notice, but in LL her race is semi-significant in that she’s following in her fathers footsteps to hunt the same treasure he was, and her father was an Indian archaeologist hunting for a lost Indian cultural relic.

It never came up in 2 or 3. As @Particle Bored mentioned, it was a plot point in Lost Legacy that she was following her father's footsteps, and we learned he was Indian.

Phil LaMarr voiced a Japanese man on Samurai Jack and a Romanian dude in Metal Gear Solid 2, even though he's black. Should we discredit him because he often voices characters that aren't black? And don't forget Cree Summer, who's biggest role in the 90s was probably Elmyra, who was a white girl. Honestly, it's people like Phil LaMarr and Cree Summer that show that race means shit in terms of voice acting, it's how well you can voice the role, and both of them are immensely talented.

Of course, you'll never see them complain about black actors playing Asian or white characters. Nope, gotta criticize whitey for it.

There's a surprising amount of sanity on page 1 - lots of 'it's about the genetalia' sort of stuff and no bans that I can see. Kind of weird.

I think a major issue is less the ability to reproduce and "religious reasons" like one of the posters on the thread assumes and more they prefer the actual genitalia of their preferred sex if the transgender person is pre-op, or genitalia that isn't relocated back skin for sir and a glorified wound for lady if they're post-op. These people don't seem to realize that as blunt as it may seem, there is a more ulterior reason for dating than just companionship.
