Well the now locked
Sarah Jeong thread has been a thanksgiving day parade of bad logic and misunderstanding what's going on, some highlights:
Starting with this dude who would make a good point if this trend of digging through left leaning public figure's twitter accounts to dredge up their edgy jokes wasn't an extremely transparent attempt to hold the left to a consistent set of their OWN standards:
It's funny how perspective rolls off of your memory like water off oil when you're convinced you're on the right side of history.
Some logic with obvious holes in it on display:
Oh so intent and motive DO matter, gotcha. Until you read the next sentences in which he says things which logically necessitate that motive and intent DON'T matter because simply supporting people that aren't dems means you're engaging in double secret racism.
But you see context and furthermore words (all to just say "it's a double standard, but it's OUR double standard, so deal"). I don't think we need to take any particularly wild guesses at when "intent can absolve someone" either.
Misc:
What thread would be complete without our favorite sped postin' like it's 2014, but more importantly the "waaaaaaah they're using JOKES to hurt people's LIVES" he's quoting is deliciously ironic:
Someone didn't get banned for this, mods be slippin':
Finally, it goes on too long to capture it, but there's a decent slapfight between Satuprinssi (now banned for finally actually insulting someone after about 8 pages arguing) and the usual suspects after about page 10 or so where Satuprinssi is talking about North v South Italian discrimination and all the usual suspects were assuming they were talking the USA North v South.
