Which also ties into a scene in Count Zero. Turns out if you work for the Big Media Company and you die they send out a mid-level manager to gouge your eye implants out of your head. Because they're technically owned by the company. No different from turning in your company laptop when you quit.

Neither have I. And me too. I know if games journos are praising something its: 1) A triple-A title they were paid to shill, no matter what. 2) Woke Indie Garbage, not good indie stuff like the new theme hospital or 3) They're being massive faggots who are going to get mocked.

Back in the day, game journos were shills, but their writing was entertaining and hilarious. In the days before the internet, the mags were good for strategy guides and had some funny writers. You'd also get tech reviews too in old school PC Gamer mags which are hilarious to look back on. Game journos changed from funny writer hobbyists to unfunny faggot shills that everyone hates. Everyone I know basically hate-reads every journo site from Rock, Paper Shotgun, to Giant Bomb to Destructoid. No one actually goes there for their opinion.

I think my favorite game journo story ever was this indie dev who developed this adventure game or some shit that was widely praised on nearly every single games site, and I mean big ones like PC Gamer and IGN.

It sold 5,000 copies and the developer had to close down. Later on he couldn't figure out why when his game was so heavily promoted by these sites, it got literally no one buying it. Its almost as if these faggots have lost their entire audience and trust, and no one ever listens to them. I have no idea why companies even bother, seriously. Kingdom Come Deliverance proved that they're all but useless. You can be boycotted and be a platinum seller on steam. They don't fucking matter, at all.

Honestly, I can't wait for the day when they're treated like the whores they are, ignored when they cry, slapped when they don't do what the big studios tell them to do. They eventually will only be an extension of PR, with 'woke' websites maintaining less than 20k views a month for hipsters who don't play games. I don't even bother hate reading them anymore, I just look at their bylines and go 'what faggots' and move on with my day.

Kind of a massively obscure reference here, but anyone else memba that episode of Moral Oral that was so dark and twisted it got the show canceled?

For the 99.99999% of the kiwi population who dont know what the fuck im talking about, to TLDR it Moral Oral was a mid/late 00s claymation show on AdultSwim featuring a caricatured hyper fundie town that epitomised every puritanical batshit, loathesomely hypocritical, and just plain moronic flaw of religious fundamentalism. Honestly its one of my personal favourite animated shows and I would highly recommend it.

One episode had a plot point about a serial rapist who was targeting women in the town, and the town newspapers (which didnt want to even hint at something against the "perfect fundie town" narrative) went out of their way to downplay and minimalise it by describing him as an "unwanted cheater" and "forceful adulterer" before shifting to "TOWN UNCOMFORTABLE WITH RAMPANT SEX CRIMES: talking about this may be inevitable" and then just straight up headlining with "PAPERS FORCED TO PRINT THE WORD 'RAPE': We cant ignore this story any more..." and finally with utmost reluctance reporting on the fact there was a serial rapist in town.

In an extremely perverse way, ResetEra and other full on SJW hub are aping this "blatantly too batshit and horrible to be true" tactic by reluctantly and quietly talking about this issue a good 10 years after it became apparant because at this point they cant really avoid mentioning it because it has gotten so horrifically bad, despite it supposedly being something they should have been full of outrage over for a decade given the dogma they claim to uphold.
