Cyberpunk can be seen as a social commentary on the direction of modern society, progession of technology, and its impact to humanity - Societal Rot is a core feature of the genre. To say "Its the future! we can change whatever we want on our bodies and live happily ever after!" is extremely short-sighted.

Oh for sure, a lot of good cyberpunk media tends to critique the future where everything is run by big corporations and the whole ideas of transhumanism and escapism. Before the whole trans thing was mainstream cyberpunk fiction tended to involve virtual worlds and extreme body modification that oftentimes had horrible consequences.

And the archetypal cyberpunk setting is some run down future shithole where everyones getting fucked over by mega-corporations anyhow.

Most cyberpunk settings take place in an anarcho capitalist meme ball utopia where corporations can (and do) nuke each other to get ahead. So I suppose it's easy to say they are pro-communist...but usually the wild eyed commie idealists in a cyberpunk setting meet a bad end. Either being killed by someone more ruthless then them, becoming the thing they hate when given the opportunity for wealth and power, or else giving up and getting high on drugs once it's realized utopia is a pipe dream. The cyberpunk "hero" is not out to save the world. He's out to carve a little piece of order out of the chaos. It's very individualistic.

The "permanent neon nighttime" aesthetic always seems to be the default, so I'm glad they aren't going down that exact route.
Plus you can choose the character's gender and sexuality, so if Era and Gaf got the sticks out their asses and realized one tweet from the social media guy doesn't represent the whole development team they'd be sucking this game's dick.

Another thing that's important to know is that it wasn't dialogue in the game itself. It was a tweet put out by a PR ~~person~~ guy at CD Projekt Red. If it was in the game it wouldn't have gotten nearly as much attention from these idiots as it did since these faggots don't play video games, but since Twitter is one of the central hives on the Internet inhabited by the SJW bees, RetardEra exploded into mass autistic hysteria because of course it fucking did.
