Let's be honest though, not counting customizable characters, how many iconic black vidya characters are there? I can't remember any from the top of my head.
Another issue though is every character is basically classed as white unless they are African black. You need to be as dark as the night to get +1 representation.
So all the Japanese or Chinese characters are white. Then any diversity within European characters gets ignored as just being "another white male". Like what happened with Kingdom Come.
