Great Post, I love how Patrick responds regarding the Yakuza picture, but completely ignores the far more aggressions "stick it in her" picture.
Why is Digital Foundry banned? Tried some google serching but could only find links to thier recent articles on resetera.

They're not really banned but John (dark1x who does DFRetro) did a tech breakdown with the developers of Ion Fury. ERA called them out for their "transphobia" and kept tagging him, he refused to cut ties with them and instead said he was done posting on ERA then took a Twitter break because they were harassing him on there too.
John's no conservative or libertarian (like Colin Moriarty) and is pretty SJW himself but he was just not having their shit. They went after Dictator too, trying to get him to cancel John or something but he refused and told them off too. But he still posts on there and is really quite a SJW IIRC so they leave him alone now.

Neoxon is particularly infamous for this kind of behavior. his profile "spotlighting Black Excellence - Diversity Analyst" should tell you all about him and the only personality of his.
Even if the next Smash Bros did have "unambiguous" African characters, he will always find a way to complain about "blacks not being represented enough in video games."
Edit: And considering the egregious level of circlejerking and bans, a lot of people will just jump right into supporting his complaints even if it doesn't sound logical, thus continuing the vicious cycle of echo-chamber.

So outside of Twintelle from ARMS has anyone made any real arguments for a black video game character than could have been subbed for any of the other VASTLY MORE POPULAR/ICONIC or the very least Nintendo owned characters in the pass? I can't speak for the popularity of the Xenoblade characters and I understand that the last couple of Fire Emblem characters were pushed on Sakurai by Nintendo.
Even with Twintelle, I can see the rationale being they wanted a character from ARMS that actually fought with their magic arms instead of hair. For as much "hype" as Twintelle got, ARMS is pretty much forgotten now too 4 years after release.
I saw this list on one of the threads
Three of those are suggested Echos so they would be ok with the same character but with just a Black Skin and that is it?
Of recent games, MAYBE someone from Apex Legends could be in the running since Apex seems to be popular in Japan. Barret from FF7 (but there are probably 2 dozen SquareEnix characters that would easily sell DLC more than him). The next stretch would probably be to take a pilot from F-Zero and give them an original moveset like with Captain Falcon, but that franchise is pretty much on ice and we were lucky to get Falcon in Smash 64 in the first place.
Hell, I would love Rodin from Bayonetta, but realize hundreds of characters will sell better.
