Gotta love the "concern trolling" excuse. The term is so utterly vague and meaningless to them, and the way it's applied is completely random and haphazard. It basically depends entirely on the moderator's evaluation of a poster's intent and sincerity.......which is to say that a Concern Trolling ban can be applied to anyone at anytime, with punishment meted out by a lunatic moderator who is so power-hungry that (s)he would spend hours a day working for free just to keep their title and authority.

Generally speaking the "concern troll" ban tends to mean "You agree with us but you pointed out a flaw in our position or philosophy and that made us angry, therefore you are a troll and must be banished."

If I ever met one of these fuckers irl I doubt I would be able to resist taking a swing at them.
I truly believe western civilization lost something important when we suddenly decided it wasn't appropriate to just beat the shit out of people like this. I remain convinced that a good hard thunk on the head is all most of these dipshits need to straighten them out a bit. Jonathan Yaniv is always my preferred example. If somebody would just throw a good right hook and shatter his nose when he gets physical with them, I guarantee he'd never do it again. And if just one family member of one of his BCHRT victims had paid him a visit at home and pummeled him for a minute or two, I suspect his legal shenanigans would have stopped as well.

Journalists are scum, game journalists are the scum of scum and Jason Schreier is the scum of scum of scum
I think the only journalist I respect even less than Schreier is that Dean Takahashi imbecile who -- despite having been a "gaming journalist" for two decades -- couldn't get past the jump-dash portion of Cuphead's tutorial and thus was forced to write his review of the game without having actually played the fucking thing. And when the much-deserved ridicule came pouring in, he just doubled down and criticized the game for being too hard and the people mocking them for being toxic. All his journalist buddies circled the wagons for him too.

They think the Farms and Twitter is responsible for their shitty server going super slow and returning 520 errors:

Bring your radical violence to china, who cause more pollution than the rest of the world combined
No? Don't feel like doing that?
Ok then how about you stop electing politicians who are bought and sold by China and completely unwilling to confront them on anything?
Oh no, that might prevent trannies being able to rape girls in bathrooms
Maybe the world should burn

Nothing further to be said about the sale from Isamu Fukui to MOBA Networks, all has been said, all questions have been answered, please continue posting about how Smash Bros needs more darkies:

Gotta love how the metrics of engagement are somehow are justification for shutting the thread down, when they are arguably proof that it should continue.

"Wow, this is a topic that people are really interested in and want to talk about -- I guess we should just end discussion altogether."

Imagine this standard being applied to any other OT or thread. "Holy cow, 10,000 replies -- I guess there's nothing more to be said here, let's lock the thread."

Psychologists decided spanking kids was bad for them but it turns out not hitting them is so much worse.

another day another thread about how we're all going to die horribly thanks to the rule of law and it's time for violence

Enjoy that!
Pretty much any timeline with the US not existing in the past 100 years gives you a global power that is going to be far worse for resetera`s minorities.

1930s?: Say Hello to Nazi World Control!
1950s?: How are the Russians treating your minority LGBT groups?
2010s: Better get rid of your effeminate ways, men. China is in control Today.

Well its often not that clear. Was the IRA a Terrororganisation or Rebels?
Terrorism has a bright-line standard. The moment you knowingly and deliberately attack innocent citizens unaffiliated with the organization you wish to tear down, you have ceased to be a simple rebellion or revolution, and have become a terrorist organization. It's hitting below the belt, politically speaking. One simply does not go around murdering uninvolved Joe Everyman just to provoke a reaction, no matter how desirable that reaction might be for one's cause.

The only reason it's often not clear is the "knowingly and deliberately" bit I just mentioned. Those in power have a real penchant for taking accidents, mistakes, or unintended collateral damage and ginning them into deliberate acts of malice - painting people who genuinely are not terrorists, as terrorists. I won't comment on the IRA as I'm not nearly familiar enough with their deeds to offer an informed opinion in either direction; I'm dealing purely in generalities here. The gray area only exists in human perception. It's like the legal distinction between first- and second-degree murder: you have to plan to kill in order to get first-degree, but it's hard to prove whether such planning was done. A court of law will throw out an unsubstantiated first-degree charge; the court of public opinion is much more easily swayed by narrative spin from talking heads.

lol this should be good...

that would hold water only if that would be high school

It is impressive.
In just 4 years they have banned more people than most forum have unique visitors during their entire lifetime.

View attachment 2658930

They have during their lifetime had ~104k unique users on the site (earlier in their thread). And of these 104k signups they have managed to ban basically half their userbase.
Jesus fucking christ.
ResetEra really is the Cambodia under Pol Pot of internet gaming forums.

Ladies and gentleman, as the storm passes and the unpaid Resetera jannies shuffle off to be abused by their new Swedish overlords, let us remind ourselves of how true and honest the great internet historians on Kiwifarms really are

For years now myself and others have been warning the inmates, they read, but they didn't listen.

What a generous and caring service the Farms provided to all of Resetera, from the banbot to show the jannies lying about "user banned (permanent): a severe history of sealioning while drive-by trolling" for the poor humble poster with no previous bans, to documenting how Isamu Fukui was using them all and just wanted to cash out.

Is it any surprise this is the most honest site on the internet? That is only a fraction of the posts in this topic about Isamu stealing money from minorities on Resetera to run away with everything in the end. I truly hope Hecht doesn't drink himself to death after really thinking about how much the jannies got played.

Cerium would never sell us or his progressive principles out, that's why he formed an LLC before installing XenForo!

What is ResetEra saying about the VA election?
The official thread over there is actually a kind of fun read.

There's a good amount of salt, and plenty of searching for blame. And on this post we find out that McAuliffe actually paid for, printed, and distributed a Youngkin ad emphasizing Trump's support for him. Like, he probably directly helped Youngkin with that stunt.

In general, I'm enjoying watching them shit on their own party, shit on Biden, and fear the midterm elections.
