Yeah man I'm just confused. Avatar was a "muh noble savage" ripoff of DWW but what did he make in the 90s that was even about race? True Lies had an Arab villain but this was after the Libyan hijackings and the Munich Massacre so that was just a thing happening in the world at the time.

Funny aside: there are enough terrorist attacks in Munich for the wiki page for the Munich Massacre to read like this:

I've not read the entire thing, because it's difficult to try that without your eyes glazing over. Very little "abuse" is documented here as opposed to current-year whinging about the fact that the corporate hierarchy exists at all, from the class of explicit diversity hires that these idiots in AAA studios are onboarding.

NeoGAF had a thread about it with some very salient points made.

I also think this clip is relevant to the situation we're seeing playing out in the game industry.

Reminds me of when men on Twitter started putting different pronouns in their twitter bio so that when their incensed SJW opposition used he/him or called them men of any kind they could get the account suspended.

The amount of 'rules for thee' people on ResetEra believe they have a right to is incredible. Really emphasises those studies that show while Republicans generally don't mind if someone is a Democrat, Democrats will cut Republicans out of their lives and refuse to associate with them. They honestly, truly, think they are just inherently better people - when they have many hate-based opinions, believe in scientism over science, and lack empathy.

They have no self-awareness whatsoever, otherwise it would be a perfect place for the Mitchell and Webb 'are we the baddies?' sketch.

My take about Druckmann is that he's probably just naive. He's a sincere believer in the values he holds and doesn't think anything bad will happen.

Just think about it. A shrewd businessman trying to cater to the woke for clout might have a tranny in his game, but he wouldn't rotoscope his author insert into the game fucking her. Druckmann did that in TLoU2. He's not in this out of some kind of cynical benefit calculation.
