Despite being a filthy commie, sphagnum was more of the more reasonable posters on there, I was actually sorta surprised he lasted as long as he did. He wasn't afraid to mock Democrats from the left and they often hated it, running to their safe space PoliEra thread to whine about it to the mods, especially when it provided cover for other posters to do the same. I figured he was one of the older hand Marxists who don't much care for identity politics so much since it distracts from the class war.

It is also a supremely ignorant thing to say about Clarence Thomas in particular, whose constitutionalism is intensely textual. The amended Constitution explicitly abolishes slavery. It is practically a religion to him that he will not go against the text.

The original Baiken was LITERALLY just genderbent Rouroni Kenshin, she only exists because the art director thought Kenshin was a woman at first glance. She was also sexualized in the first few games she appeared in as well. Her tits bulging out of her kimono was always part of her design.
Every original GG design is bland shit compared to their Xrd redesigns. They all looked like generic, slim anime characters before ArcSys exaggerated their proportions and gave them some goddamn heft. Sol now is better than Sol in the 90s. Him being a walking muscle sells the idea of him being able to kick tons of ass way better than his original design. This modern Baiken design is way more threatening then her passive-looking, gangly original design.

Baiken was always a character whose breasts were clearly visible in her kimono gap, but it's definitely true that she has gotten a lot more extreme in recent years. I'd say that Xrd was where it really started, though.

You can see a very clear shift in Xrd to not only make her more sexualised, but also angrier (because I guess it turns the developers on). Strive follows upon what Xrd started and makes it a bit more extreme.
I don't necessarily think ResetEra are wrong with this one for once, but I also think it's funny they think any Japanese developers will give a shit and I also doubt any of them played Guilty Gear to begin with. If they bought the travesty that is Strive, then it's even funnier and I look forward to seeing them seethe more.

yeah can't disagree with them on this, old baiken design was far more interesting and unique before all the people that never played her (or GG for that matter) latched onto muh bewbs and boiled her down to that, to the point where her poses and animations are done around the tits with them as the centerpiece, its just bland and lazy, but then again those are two good words to describe guilty gear strive so...

Insofar as every ronin character is kenshin, i guess? that's a very bizarre comparison, she's nothing like him, she'd be closer to manji from blade of the immortal "looks wise". And if we're gonna be this reductive and ignore all the rest lets just say i'd rather have a kenshin without tranny tits that invariably change the posture and focus of the character animations and aesthetic since xrd. Also it's not like big tits are necessarily bad anyway, GG itself does a great job with pretty much every other female character with them in strive from I-no to Giovanna, it just bastardizes baiken, although that's a sin on xrd's sheet to be fair.
