He clearly took a lot of pride in showcasing his steam profile, to the point where he had an entire bio written of his past janitorial positions and gaming "accomplishments".

Fun fact if dev hasn't locked their achievements server side, you can unlock shit with Steam achievement manager. THQ (Company of Heroes 2 and Dawn of War 3) has multi-player only achievements on limited time events.
I haven't checked yet if Hogwarts Legacy applies, since it has account tie in and all with DLC store. I have my doubts.
Since most single player developers know that they're going to make sequels, old ones are promptly abandoned and many are outright broken and impossible to get due to YanDev tier coding.
So far use of Steam game manager and unlocking achievements isn't against terms of service since its not ruining experience for anyone. So if dev has the achievement in grey you're golden if a achievement is golden well you're stuck. Even more so when you're playing a dead game.

I forgot about that but I meant like, late 90's to early 2000's. It was the death rattle of the religious right as a significant cultural influence in the US IMO. I remember occasionally hearing about a Harry Potter book burning sponsored by weird evangelicals growing up or like there would be one kid in class who wasn't allowed to read them and I always loved the books as a kid so I noticed.
Ark Survival Evolved had a mod on the steam marketplace that would permanently unlock every achievement, idk if it's still there/supported but I used to see it on servers all the time so you didn't even have to seek it out, just join a server and the mod autodownloaded.
I've said this before but if you must buy it as a means of voting with your wallet, consider buying it as a gift. Maybe you have a niece or nephew, or a friend with a birthday coming up. Hell, go on /v/ and give it away to some poor NEET with nothing going for him. I also wonder if there's some charity like St. Jude's or Shriner's hospitals that takes donations in the form of video games for sick kids because I've seen a lot of people not just here post about buying it to essentially send a message.

What really gets me about all this controversy is that the Harry Potter IP is very beloved among true and honest women. I'd go as far as to claim that the wizard game is one of the most female dominant popular game releases that has ever launched in terms of player demographics, maybe even an all-time number one depending on how you measure it.
Of all the people I know that have bought this game, only one is a guy, and he's not straight. The rest are all feminist women, but they represent the "unwoke" working class flavor of feminists who don't spend enough time online to even know what a TERF is, or what Joker Rowling has been up to on twitter.
Relevancy fades quick; Elon Musk's twitter account tanked 90% in terms of engagements last year, despite the twitter purchase controversy. The last Harry Potter movie dropped in 2010, so Rowling hasn't been on an average person's radar for well over a decade. The fact that her new book sold only a handful of copies showcases just how little people care about her as opposed to her fantasy world. If you mention Rowling and controversial tweets in the same sentence, most of the normies who hear you will assume that you're talking about the "dumbledore gay" thing.
The trans activists can't even begin to comprehend this, because they're almost exclusively unemployed NEET men, polar opposites of the people who are excited to play the game. They're absolutely incapable of relating to their harassment targets because they have nothing in common with them.

Growing up during Potter mania post 9/11, Newgrounds days and others created new brand of scorned Trekkie potterheads.
